Weekend To Do: Culture Club
Friday, April 5, 2013
One: Anthropologie's home collection, inspired by remote isles and sea, is the perfect addition to freshen up tablescapes and homes this season. It's the escapism that will get you from Spring to Summer.
Two: We can't event begin to cover how will feel about the genius of Baz Luhrmann in one blog post. While everyone is certainly looking forward to the release of The Great Gatsby, Architectural Digest is digging into the design and architecture of the set with Tobey Maguire. Read it here.
Three: Texas has officially named the pecan pie THE state pie. In a state known for sweets and Southern hospitality, this is no easy feat. Food & Wine shares the 1996 winning recipe for Bobby Lee's Texas State Fair pecan pie (judged by none other than Dean Fearing). Just add it as another source of Texas pride, along with BBQ, breakfast tacos, and sweet tea. Recipe here.
Four: The Dallas Art Fair (April 12-14) and The Dallas Film Festival (April 4-14) bring serious talent to our growing cultural mecca. Get your tickets and read about the art and film waiting to blow your mind this month.
The Shift: Petite to Adult Tables
Thursday, April 4, 2013
What better way to transform your event than with two equally fabulous table designs, one for the kids and one for the adults. Working with a Chanel-inspired theme, the POSH Petite table incorporates the same patterns and color theory in a darling display of pink and black as its more adult counterpart, the simple yet stunning sophistication addition of mirrors and white with black and pink. Infusing beautiful design into an event should be appreciated by the whole family, after all.
Get the look with P.O.S.H.

Tabletop Tuesday: Spring Green
Tuesday, April 2, 2013
Green chiavari chairs are a brilliant and bright focal point for this Spring tablescape. |
With emerald getting a lot of glory as Pantone's Color of the Year, we thought we'd throw around a little mean green love for this gorgeous Spring tablescape. Leave it to Mary Wright Shaw to know how to navigate around any hue for an elegant and enticing tabletop. The sublime floral centerpieces are courtesy of the creative team at Jackson Durham. This is just the look you need for a festive brunch or lunch.
Scalloped chargers and Dark Green Chloe Goblets provide just the right accent for a Spring Green tabletop. And don't you love the use of real flora and fauna around the place settings? |

If you're thinking about blue + white
Monday, April 1, 2013
Since its moment of import in the 17th century, blue + white china has been a mainstay in European culture. Trickling down to the American royalty and social lifestyles of our most iconic tastemakers, it left an indelible impression that hasn't been lifted. We love when the designs gets a breath of fresh air or a new medium, like the Oscar de la Renta wedding gown pictured below. Every piece of blue + white china in our collection has a unique design that is intentionally curated to mix and match within this collection or other porcelains and chinas, making it easy to freshen up a traditional look that has become an elegant staple in our culture of entertaining and Southern hospitality. How do you do blue + white?

WHAT WE LOVE
Traditional blue + white china set the tone for an elegant affair with a modern appeal. The typical white wedding gown gets a Oscar's take on "something blue" and the tabletop gets a touch of metallics with our Gold Lace Stemware, Barcelona Gold Charger, and Parisian Gold Flatware.
