To Do: Weekend Checklist
Friday, January 11, 2013
One: FORNASETTI - We are a sucker for collecting calendar plates, but the 2013 edition of the Fornasetti featuring a self-portrait of Piero's son Barnaba deserves a spot on our shelf. We love Barnaba. In fact, we wish we had a chance to visit his Milan shop to view an exhibition of his self-portraits.
Two: CELERIE KEMBLE FOR SCHUMACHER - Who doesn't love the fabulous interiors of Celerie Kemble? Her designs always inspire, and now we can take a small piece of her creativity with us with her wall coverings for Schumacher. See the prints here.
Third: CHARLIE ROSE WITH RORY AND BOBBY KENNEDY - Charlie Rose, a personal favorite for respectful and thorough journalism and conversation. He feels like a friend, albeit a friend not afraid to ask the hard questions. He will be here tonight (!!) at ATTPAC in the Arts District to interview Rory and Bobby Kennedy. The Kennedy's are an American dynasty, and we adored watching Ethel (Rory's crazy good and insightful documentary of Ethel's highly publicized yet private life).
Four: SMASHBOX + CURTIS KULIG - Graffiti artist Curtis Kulig is well known for his Love Me series. Add his creative designs to the packaging of one of our favorite beauty lines and it's a win-win. Get it.
If you're thinking about jewel tones
Thursday, January 10, 2013
The color palettes we choose for entertaining should be a direct reflection of our personal taste. Maybe that's why the sartorial pairings of our favorite style scribe continuously inspires the way we set our table. By taking fashion in vogue and making it her own, Merritt Beck''s blog, The Style Scribe, presents savvy readers with a personally curated wardrobe that focuses on pairing current trends with a timeless approach to style. Her take on jewel tones easily transitions to tabletop - think rich colors and fun tabletop items. See how Merritt's style influenced our POSH picks below. How would you take this trend from outfit to tabletop?

Petite: Pipsqueak Events

We were already impressed by the talented Emily Clarke for her wedding and event planning, but with Pipsqueak events, she takes party planning for your young ones to the next level. Knowing this, we were super excited to see her while perusing our favorite mom reads - D Moms Daily and DFW Child. Her creativity knows no ends, and we love how she used the P.O.S.H. Petite line for this birthday celebration. Check out the images and links below.

Tabletop Tuesday: A Case of the Blues
Tuesday, January 8, 2013
We love a blue wedding. We've seen classic themes that include Tiffany blue and nautical navy as well as seasonal themes that bring icy blue for a winter wonderland. What we don't get to see very often is aqua blue, so we were thrilled when Jordan Payne used this festive hue for a tablescape perfect for spring brides. Who wouldn't fall head over heels for this tabletop?
A great way to bring in other colors is with the floral designs on our Sevres China Collection. Plus, silver and blue always go well together so it's easy to mix in silver glassware and flatware with added white elements for a timeless tabletop.

Spotted: D Weddings Spring 2013
Monday, January 7, 2013
D Weddings Spring 2013 issue is officially out on stands, and it is giving us spring fever! We spotted a few of our fabulous clients in the pages, like this Real Wedding featuring Amanda Mayfield and Justin Hill with DFW Events. (We shared a few images from this wedding on the blog last month, which you can see here and here.)
The issue also has great tidbits from local experts on ways to make the big day and the planning process much easier on the bride. Our favorite is the "What You Need to Know For Your Wedding Day" series. We especially loved the advice on picking out china patterns.
We will be sharing more images from weddings featured in the magazine that didn't make it to print in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
