Love the Look // Leopard

Thursday, September 26, 2013

Animal prints always make a strong statement come time for cool weather. And, as we all know, leopard is a neutral that never goes out of style. If you can pull off an animal print accessory, then you should be able to bring that look to your tabletop for a personalized look. Whether it's just a hint of leopard with a custom linen alongside a chic and timeless china pattern, like Gold Scroll China (shown left, above) with Christofle Flatware, then you can pull off of the animal print with an Amber Goblet or Elise Cut Crystal Stemware. However, if you really want to make a statement (and why not?!), then produce an outstanding tabletop with the complete Leopard China set that will have all your guests wanting to take a walk on the wild side. It takes a special woman to pick leopard for her place setting, and we want to be her friend.

Tabletop Tuesday: An Iconic Blue

Tuesday, May 28, 2013
Even POSH pups prefer a chiavari chair, in pewter of course. All photos by Karlish Photography.

Love for The Great Gatsby and its collaboration with Tiffany's has sparked a resurgence of interest in the iconic hue known simply as Tiffany Blue. It has us thinking back to one of our favorite tablescapes photographed by Stephen Karlisch. We love the mix of old and new with a modern and festive cake plus the tried and true favorites, the Sevres Collection. It would be the perfect setting for Gatsby and Daisy to meet, and even more perfect for an outdoor wedding.

A cake that looks so good you almost don't want to eat it (almost being the key word here).

A gorgeous reception place setting. Gold Scroll Stemware, Gold Leaf Compote, Silverbead Flatware, Sevres China, Simply Platinum Charger.

Tabletop Tuesday: Glamping

Tuesday, March 26, 2013
P.O.S.H. place setting: Gold Bead Glass Charger, Black Banded Dinner Plate, Sevres Collection Dinner Plate, Barcelona Gold Salad Plate, Dynasty 24K Flatware, Black + White Striped Linen, all P.O.S.H. Couture Rentals.

You can always expect the quirky and cool married minds behind Bows and Arrows to come up with a fun and gorgeous tabletop. We're talking about floral darlings Alicia and Adam Rico, of course. Everything they do is like a breath of fresh air. Take their unexpected turn on tabletops in the latest Brides of North Texas with "Glamping: Caviar and S'mores." It has the playful irreverence of a modern bride with the luxurious gold elements that tie it together for a truly glamorous affair (Hence the glam in glamping!). Definitely two POSH thumbs way up. All photography shown by PEREZ PHOTOGRAPHY.

Who says champagne needs stemware? Our Gold Scroll Water Glass is the perfect way to glam up a "glamping" tabletop.

If you're thinking about Spring blooms

Thursday, March 14, 2013
Perhaps our favorite thing about Spring is the bright blooms that begin popping up everywhere. Nothing inspires a beautiful tabletop more than a great centerpiece, and that is something Jackson Durham definitely has down. Take direction from their beautiful floral arrangements and set a festive table with pops of pink and orange.

Spotted: D Weddings Spring 2013

Monday, January 7, 2013
D Weddings Spring 2013 issue is officially out on stands, and it is giving us spring fever! We spotted a few of our fabulous clients in the pages, like this Real Wedding featuring Amanda Mayfield and Justin Hill with DFW Events. (We shared a few images from this wedding on the blog last month, which you can see here and here.)

D Weddings Spring 2013 / Images courtesy of ANDREA POLITO PHOTOGRAPHY / Rentals:  Gold Chiavari Chairs with Ivory Cushions, White Shantung with Gold Floral Beaded Tulle Overlay, White Hemstitch Linen Napkins, Gold Florentine Charger, Gold Floral Lace Goblet, all P.O.S.H. COUTURE RENTALS / Cake by DALLAS AFFAIRS CAKE CO.

The issue also has great tidbits from local experts on ways to make the big day and the planning process much easier on the bride. Our favorite is the "What You Need to Know For Your Wedding Day" series. We especially loved the advice on picking out china patterns.

We will be sharing more images from weddings featured in the magazine that didn't make it to print in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

Tabletop Tuesday: Shimmering + Bright

Tuesday, December 18, 2012
We spend time picking the perfect outfit, planning the perfect menu, and even revising the perfect guest list - so why should tabletops be any different? For a melting pot of cultures, traditions, friends, and family, the one thing we can be certain of for the holiday dinners is that where we sit our guests should be shimmering and bright. With the popular jewel colors of the past fall and the upcoming spring, we created a winter wonderland perfect for anyone who wants to spin a proper blue Christmas or just add a pop of color and sparkle to their New Years tabletop.

Clear Louis Ghost Chair by Kartell / Silver Metallic Soutache linen overlay all by RESOURCE ONE, exclusively at P.O.S.H. COUTURE RENTALS.

POSH 101: Setting the Table for the Holidays

Thursday, December 13, 2012
You have the menu, the playlist, and even the outfit, so what's left on your list? Setting the table, of course. The holidays call for a well-adorned tabletop, and we have a quick cheat sheet on how to make your formal dinner place setting shine. How are you setting the table this year? Send us your pictures at showroom@poshcouturerentals.com.

Tabletop: Gold Florentine Charger / Gold Scroll Dinner and B&B Plates / Gold Leaf Salad Plate, Compote, Tea Cup and Saucer / Gold Lyons Flatware / Gold Scroll Goblet / Gold Lace Champagne Flute / Amber Goblet, all P.O.S.H. Couture Rentals // Linen: Gold Beaded Tulle with Gold Nu Silk from Resource One, exclusively at P.O.S.H. Couture Rentals.

The number one rule of holiday tabletops? Use the good china - that is what it's there for after all. Use heirloom pieces and wedding or holiday china and supplement our personal collections with our couture pieces for a shimmering tabletop guests will not soon forget.

Most of us don't use a formal place setting on a daily basis, so these tips should have you feeling confident that your tabletop looks perfectly posh. Brush up on these essentials and then apply or break them as needed for your event or dinner.

1. Flatware begins with forks on the left and knives and spoons on the right, starting with the smaller utensil and working towards the plate. The easiest way to remember? Your ABC's. Forks (F) on the left, then knifes (K) and spoons (S) on the right.
2. For a less formal dinner, the dessert spoon and fork may be placed above the dinner plate. The spoon above the fork lined up with opposite ends - fork pointing right, spoon left.
3. The napkin is placed on the dinner plate. There are several ways to fold or gather the napkin, so be creative.
4. Glassware always goes on the right. This is easy to remember if you have a bread plate with the same ABC's game. Bread (B) is on the left; glassware (G) on the right. Line up the water goblet with the knife with the white wine glass or goblet on the right. A red wine glass would go right above both to form a triangle.
5. The tea cup and saucer are placed slightly below and to the right of the glassware.
6. The china is the fun part! Begin the foundation with a couture charger and layer dinner, salad, bread plate and their chargers. A demitasse, amuse bouche, or compote dish can also be placed on top.

Tabletop Tuesday: Golden Glow

Tuesday, October 30, 2012
The glow coming from these amazing tabletops designed by Paige Chenault Events warmed our hearts. Touches of gold on a monochromatic backdrop of cream and ivory - and those gorgeous floral arrangements by Stacey Murdoch of The Wildflower - prove that simple can indeed be stunning. Gary Donihoo and Kym Skiles of f8 studios captured the beautiful couple, Rachel and Andrew, and their wonderful wedding. See images of the entire event here.

ONE: The equally glowing couple, Rachel and Andrew, celebrate in style. We especially loved the centerpiece designed by The Wildflower. Get the look with our Simply Ivory China Collection and classic white hemstitch linen napkins.
TWO: A luscious (and undoubtedly delicious) cake on a gorgeous linen. Cake: Tamara Bayo for Four Seasons / Linen: Ivory Rosette by Resource One, exclusively at POSH Couture Rentals.
THREE: Service and style. Get the look with our Gold Chiavari Chairs and mix up your tabletop with our Gold Filigree (Gold Lace) Glassware and the Gold Scroll Glassware.

Tabletop Tuesday: Fall Fever

Tuesday, September 18, 2012
Today's tabletop is one of Jami's favorites; it blends autumnal browns and oranges into one luscious tabletop. We decided to take this look a step further and pair a few key pieces with our POSH picks to inspire you to customize your own unique look. If you aren't struck with Fall Fever after this post, maybe we need to take you out for a Pumpkin Spice Latte.  Now, tell us how you would layer this look for Fall?

Brunch: Brides of North Texas

Friday, July 27, 2012
We haven't met a bridal magazine we didn't like. From tips to trends, they are a source of inspiration for weddings and beyond. One of our favorites is Brides of North Texas. When you meet the women behind the brand, you immediately sense their love of all things weddings and what real ladies want for their special day. We had the opportunity to work with Brides of North Texas on their Bridal Brunch, which launched their incredible Fall 2012 issue. They worked with Meg Hayes and Julie Smith to pick out tabletop goodies from our showroom, including the Sevres Collection and Gold Scroll Glassware. We'll be sharing more from the magazine on our Pinterest, but be sure to go grab your own copy for your own future inspiration!
