There is a feeling of Spring awakening in the air with Memorial weekend behind us and the early days of Summer ahead. That rebirth and renewal is being met with new collections, carefully curated with our clientele in mind. To see what patterns and prints we have to play with plus seasonal specials, join our mailing list. Need another reason to join? You'll get information on becoming a POSH Preferred client, which means first dibs on these collections, and believe us when we say they are the perfect additions for a proper tablescape.

The art of dressing the table for the most discerning clients. Quality and timeless original design trumps all else. For design that is truly within reach, rent high-end items for the moments that matter most. Tabletop: Silver Florentine Charger, Simply Platinum Dinner Plate, Sophia and Loren China Collections, Floral Elegance Flatware, Silver Lace Goblet, Elise Cut Crystal Wine Goblet, Pewter Chiavari Chair. Champagne Organza with Double Rhinestone Trim by Resource One, Inc., exclusively at P.O.S.H. Couture Rentals.
With so many exciting things ahead, we want to take this moment to thank our clients. Because of you, we have been nominated for Best Event Rentals in D Magazine! (You can still vote for us daily through June 2nd here.) You believe quality matters, personalized approach to service, and timeless design deserves a place at the table. We couldn't agree more and promise to continue to deliver to the events that matter most in your life. The fine art of dressing the table isn't just saved for weddings and galas (although they definitely deserve prime spots), but rather it's a skill that should show how you rise to occasion at family and friend gatherings, birthdays, and anniversaries.

Tabletop Tuesday: Scarlet Spring

Tuesday, April 30, 2013

This noteworthy Spring tablescape comes just in time for Mother's Day. Rapturous hues of pink, red, and raspberry accented by glorious gold make a traditional brunch go from lackluster to lively. Designed by event planner Mary Wright Shaw with florals from the amazing team at Jackson Durham, this gorgeous look is definitely one to pin as you plan for May celebrations.

Gold Chiavari with Gold Cushion
To make sure the design wasn't too saccharine, Shaw spiced up the sweet hues with gold chiavari chairs and stemware. Below are close up of the fabulous details of the P.O.S.H. pieces. Get the look with our Scarlet Filigree Charger, Arte Italica Dinner Plate, Gold Lace Compote, Gold Lace and Gold Leaf Stemware, and Silver Bead Flatware.

Tabletop Tuesday: Baroque Beauty

Tuesday, April 23, 2013
Luxe be a lady. P.O.S.H. COUTURE RENTALS - Place Setting: Chocolate GEO Charger, Barcelona Gold Dinner Plate, Arte Italica Dinner Plate, Gold Lace "Hot Toddy" Demitasse (with raspberries), Dynasty 24K Gold Flatware, Royal Gold Water Goblet, Silver Goblet, Gold Lace Champagne Flute; Additional Serving Pieces: Gold Leaf Cordial, Silver Champagne Saucer/Compote Dish. Linen by LA TAVOLA FINE LINENS.

Inspired by Prada's Fall 2012 runway, Todd Fiscus designed a lavish tablescape for Dallas Bride on the idea of transitioning from fall to spring. We love the mixture of metals, gilded accents, and of course, baroque beauty - perfect for a true tastemaker or bride. According to Todd, in order to truly go baroque, "you have to take it 25 percent too far." Too far turns out to be too perfect.

Spotted: The Gifts that Keep on Giving

Monday, December 17, 2012
Dallas has some pretty great blogs and magazines, but the revamped FD Luxe is quickly becoming one of our favorite monthly glossies. Their deep pocket gift guide is beyond fun, dare we say rivaling the great Neiman Marcus Christmas Book.  Our favorite pick? It's Your Party - an amazing event for any occasion from the brilliant team at Jackson Durham. Just check out the pedigree of this stellar event and floral design firm here. We've seen first hand what they can bring and can't wait to see what type of whimsical soiree they come up with for such a lucky recipient. A close second pick was the shoe of the month club, picked by none other than Brian Bolke from Forty Five Ten, because, well, obviously. See these great gift ideas for that special prince or princess in your life here.

POSH 101: Setting the Table for the Holidays

Thursday, December 13, 2012
You have the menu, the playlist, and even the outfit, so what's left on your list? Setting the table, of course. The holidays call for a well-adorned tabletop, and we have a quick cheat sheet on how to make your formal dinner place setting shine. How are you setting the table this year? Send us your pictures at showroom@poshcouturerentals.com.

Tabletop: Gold Florentine Charger / Gold Scroll Dinner and B&B Plates / Gold Leaf Salad Plate, Compote, Tea Cup and Saucer / Gold Lyons Flatware / Gold Scroll Goblet / Gold Lace Champagne Flute / Amber Goblet, all P.O.S.H. Couture Rentals // Linen: Gold Beaded Tulle with Gold Nu Silk from Resource One, exclusively at P.O.S.H. Couture Rentals.

The number one rule of holiday tabletops? Use the good china - that is what it's there for after all. Use heirloom pieces and wedding or holiday china and supplement our personal collections with our couture pieces for a shimmering tabletop guests will not soon forget.

Most of us don't use a formal place setting on a daily basis, so these tips should have you feeling confident that your tabletop looks perfectly posh. Brush up on these essentials and then apply or break them as needed for your event or dinner.

1. Flatware begins with forks on the left and knives and spoons on the right, starting with the smaller utensil and working towards the plate. The easiest way to remember? Your ABC's. Forks (F) on the left, then knifes (K) and spoons (S) on the right.
2. For a less formal dinner, the dessert spoon and fork may be placed above the dinner plate. The spoon above the fork lined up with opposite ends - fork pointing right, spoon left.
3. The napkin is placed on the dinner plate. There are several ways to fold or gather the napkin, so be creative.
4. Glassware always goes on the right. This is easy to remember if you have a bread plate with the same ABC's game. Bread (B) is on the left; glassware (G) on the right. Line up the water goblet with the knife with the white wine glass or goblet on the right. A red wine glass would go right above both to form a triangle.
5. The tea cup and saucer are placed slightly below and to the right of the glassware.
6. The china is the fun part! Begin the foundation with a couture charger and layer dinner, salad, bread plate and their chargers. A demitasse, amuse bouche, or compote dish can also be placed on top.

Toast: Texas Discovery Gardens

Monday, November 26, 2012
'Tis the season to be jolly...and give back. P.O.S.H. is a proud supporter of many DFW organizations, so we are taking the time this month to TOAST a few of our favorite groups in hopes that it will inspire you this holiday season.

First up, Texas Discovery Gardens. P.O.S.H. had the chance to work with co-chairs Marilyn Waisanen and Waverly Smith and the fantastic team of TDG on tabletop donations for the 2012 Flora Awards, honoring Barbara Hunt Crow. Not only is TDG a beautiful place for us to visit (The Butterfly Garden is a must see!), but we were proud to help honor such a wonderful patron for this whimsical place this is both organic and sustainable. According to Flora Award Chair Marilyn Waisanen, “Barbara demonstrates through her deeds what it means to give back to your community. The staff and board at Texas Discovery Gardens are especially appreciative of Barbara’s commitment to our mission of environmental education.” (MySweetCharity)

If you haven't had a chance to see and support this local treasure for yourself, now is the time to do so. For more info, visit Texas Discovery Gardens here

The Harvest Table: Seated Elegance

Thursday, November 1, 2012
With Thanksgiving just weeks away, we're spotlighting this Harvest Table series to show you how to add festive touches to your holiday tabletop. After all, you want to make sure the place settings do justice for grandma's famous recipes. Our latest addition to the showroom, the Mahogany Rose by Noritake, turns the classic place setting into a striking arrangement with its rich color and and modern twist on the traditional rose pattern. We like to mix in the Exotic Bird or Gold Leaf (shown below) for even more autumnal opulence. Another way to instantly up the glamour at a seated dinner is by adding impressive accent goblets. A favorite is the complete Gold Lace glassware collection, now with an au courant demitasse cup - perfect for those after dinner drinks or espressos. Your harvest table should beget the same oohs and ahhs as a great gastronomical spread. Set up an appointment today to make sure you have the right ingredients to spice up your tabletop.

Tabletop: A staple for Fall place settings is the classic Maple Leaf Charger, a perfect foundation for layering the Mahogany Rose with the Gold Leaf china. Add a luxury linen, like the Mahogany Swirl Velvet linen by Resource One.
1. New Mahogany Rose by Noritake, the perfect compliment to your holiday tabletop.
2. Add elegance with Gold Lace Glassware, including the new Gold Lace Demitasse.
3. Mix in classic china, like the Gold Leaf China Collection.
4. Only the finest flatware should make it to a holiday tabletop, which is why we offer the couture Christofle Flatware.

Tabletop Tuesday: Golden Glow

Tuesday, October 30, 2012
The glow coming from these amazing tabletops designed by Paige Chenault Events warmed our hearts. Touches of gold on a monochromatic backdrop of cream and ivory - and those gorgeous floral arrangements by Stacey Murdoch of The Wildflower - prove that simple can indeed be stunning. Gary Donihoo and Kym Skiles of f8 studios captured the beautiful couple, Rachel and Andrew, and their wonderful wedding. See images of the entire event here.

ONE: The equally glowing couple, Rachel and Andrew, celebrate in style. We especially loved the centerpiece designed by The Wildflower. Get the look with our Simply Ivory China Collection and classic white hemstitch linen napkins.
TWO: A luscious (and undoubtedly delicious) cake on a gorgeous linen. Cake: Tamara Bayo for Four Seasons / Linen: Ivory Rosette by Resource One, exclusively at POSH Couture Rentals.
THREE: Service and style. Get the look with our Gold Chiavari Chairs and mix up your tabletop with our Gold Filigree (Gold Lace) Glassware and the Gold Scroll Glassware.
FOUR: We love great looking paper goods; they add a fun and festive element for your guests.
