Tabletop Tuesday // Dinner in the Field

Tuesday, October 8, 2013

Farm-to-Table: Farm fresh eggs served in vintage milk glass with natural wildflowers as centerpieces for Experimental Table. Adding POSH to the mix means an equal amount of glamor with a relaxed vibe - perfect for Dinner in the Fields.
Cooler temps have been gracing Dallas (finally), and there would be nothing better than to enjoy a night of delicious food, good conversation, and a beautiful atmosphere in the serenity of the great outdoors. The only thing to make such an experience better is to have excellent catering and beautiful tabletops, right? Well, the team at Experimental Table have done just that. Founded by Katie and George Brown, the duo formerly behind GEORGE Catering, took a hiatus from the catering world to travel and be with their families. Their love of food still remained strong, however, and newfound appreciation for the local farmers and seasonal ingredients they found along their travels turned into a passion for the farm-to-table concept. Thus, Experimental Table was born. This fall, they will host Dinners in the Field, a way of showing you exactly where your food comes from by eating at their farm in Lucas, Texas. Four-course dinners, live music, farm tours, and beautiful tabletops are just a taste of the experience. For their first dinner, they handpicked detailed POSH pieces that best displayed their moveable feast. Our kind of garden party.

Jute linens are an ideal foundation for the rustic chic of Dinner in the Field while the Natural Grand Chiavaris are comfortable yet stylish seating.

POSH Place Setting: Sevres China Collection, Floral Elegance Flatware, Pure White and Red Wine Goblets, Vintage Carnival Water Goblets in Green, Vintage Milk Glass

WW // Bohemian Rhapsody

The Stone Fox Bride Sarah led down the aisle (left) and her bohemian tabletop (right). Photography by Stacy Newgent.
With all the beautiful weddings we see, it's hard not to have a #WeddingWednesday on the blog (Texas vendors and planners know how to do it right, y'all.) Today, however, we are inspired by a West Coast wedding featuring the anti-traditional team of Stone Fox Bride. Their vibe is anti-bridezilla, and their brides's Big Day always looks like the best party you wish you were invited to. The wedding of Sarah and Tom came across our blog feed, and we immediately fell in love with the chill mix of tradition meets bohemian rhapsody. It also fits the autumn looks we're feeling right now, so we picked our favorite POSH pieces inspired by this breathtaking wedding (which you can see in it's entirety here.). Are you in love with this look like we are?

Love the autumnal mix in the floral runner. Get the look with POSH with a white hemstitch overlay and jute linen with our new crossback cafe chairs.

Clockwise from top left: New Floral Damask linens in Silver, Ivory, and Taupe. / New crossback chair // Vintage amber goblets / A mix of couture and vintage for the perfect place setting: Gold Bead Glass Charger, vintage dinner and salad plates, vintage crystal cordials, mixed Michelangelo and Floral Elegance flatware, white hemstitch napkin

Tabletop Tuesday: Veritas

Tuesday, July 30, 2013

Neiman Marcus recently revealed a stunning tabletop featuring a glorious assortment of Veritas Glass for their Conclave event. Veritas founder and designer Kathleen Allen focuses on a precise art form of gilded optic crystal glass. Allen's work is a one of true craftmanship, with her lamps, vases, and candlesticks taking hundreds of hours to complete to offer you a gold standard in tabletop decor. We were proud to partner with her on this tablescape that expresses the reflection of light and and luxury. Veritas will be available at Neiman Marcus this fall, but for now you can learn more about the brand and products here

Going green has never been easier. From emerald (the color of the year) to celery, green accents will have everyone in a spring mood. We love a dash of this seasonal hue on tabletops for sweet June weddings or gorgeous pops of bright green for backyard gatherings with friends and family. How do you incorporate green? We'd love to see your pictures or inspiration boards. Check out our Go Green board here

Tabletop Tuesday: Silver Radiance

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

There is such a radiance to a silver tablescape that rings both modern and elegant. When gold can seem too much and patterns to loud, know you can always rely on this tried and true metallic tone to mirror any centerpiece or accent colors. Designed by Marin Fiske-Rankin for SMU, the elegance of the Meadows Museum is reflected by a place setting that is beautifully traditional without  coming across as stuffy. Layered Sophia and Loren china creates a unique look that can be changed with each place setting at the table for a one-of-a-kind visual experience for the guest that will make them feel royally wined and dined. If you love silver but want to perk up the palette, Chloe goblets (available in a variety of colors) are the perfect addition to toasting in style. This is a great look for a traditional wedding, important corporate dinner, or holiday.

Toast: The Grand Dames

Wednesday, May 8, 2013

Today we're toasting the grand dames in our life - the matriarchs. Who would we be without the eclectic upbringing our grandmothers provided, the wisdom of our older aunts and female friends, and the unconditional love of our mothers. Their support comes in different forms, sometimes in ways we will never understand, and cannot be defined by any phrase or saying better than that one huge little word - love. We celebrate their uniqueness and originality; their quirks and their quips; and, especially, their love of celebrating life. It would be an injustice to not toast them with anything less than a fiercely fabulous tablescape. Tap into the personality of the grand dame in your life and set the table according to the style you see them exhibit in their daily lives.

Left: Mod squad meets modern elegance. Don't you want to meet her? | Right: A Jordan Payne designed tablescape featuring Mottahedeh Lace Charger, Loren China, Floral Elegance, Silver Rimmed Water Goblet, Silver Floral Lace Wine Goblet, Turquoise Trumpet Flut.
Women of a certain age are, in our opinion, the most beautiful beings on the planet. They have come into their own and ushered in new generations along the way. They haven't lost their love of all things pretty and pleasing and no longer get hooked on trends. So, how to set the table for them? We matched images of our fab ladies (including the awesome Iris Apfel) to tablescapes perfectly tailored to their looks. Both are at once traditional and elegant, yet exotic and textured; a perfect dichotemy for a well-rounded woman.
