If you're thinking about hot pink

Whether you're thinking about Valentine's Day or a pretty in pink wedding, we have a hot pink tabletop for you. Inspired by Chaumont bouquet designed by Dr. Delphinium, we went all out with a romantic mood fit for the Queen B in your life. Hot pink linens are kept from becoming overly saccharine with an elegant place setting of silver and white. Tell us, do you set the table depending on colors associated with the occassion (in this case, pink for Valentine's Day), or depending on the guest of honor? If You're thinking about zebra print

Scalamandré is known for quality designer fabrics; you probably are aware of their cult classsic pattern, "The Zebras," from its appearance on wallpaper in nearly every interior design blog and shelter magazine. Now this cool design is coming to tabletops with their fine china partnership with Lenox. How cool is that? We can't wait to get it for our own tabletops, as it is a look we have gone for again and again with clients. The biggest thing to remember with such a strong print or pattern is not to be afraid of it. Go ahead; get wild!

We'd pair the collection with rattan chargers and dark linens for an exotic theme and Barcelona Silver and Gold China for a more regal look. If you don't have the Zebra china collection, use a pattern linen and keep the tabletop simple with deep colors for a dramatic look. The Dallas Opera accomplished this perfectly with the 2012 la Traviata Onstage Dinner.

Hip to be square

The imagination and creativity behind the Louis Vuitton brand is incredible. We know it can become a cliche because it is EVERYWHERE, but it really does hit the luxury mark, often with a sense of humor and certainly with a strong grasp on the art of the world around us. No one else feels as fresh while maintaining such an iconic status in the world of branding and design. The recent campaign features the graphic square print that we've loved since early YSL and is trending again in the world of fashion. Marc Jacobs enlisted artist Daniel Buren to create the check pattern we are loving right now (and inspired by Buren's 1986 installation at the Palais Royal, Les Deux Plateaux). We couldn't help but notice how we've also seen the squares showing up in editorials and shoots for tabletop. Even our Tabletop Tuesday feature this week had a mix of round and square plates (see it here). What do you think about this graphic direction of print and tabletop...Would you go bold and repetitious with your tabletop? Is it hip to be square again?

NOTE: Remember last season's polka dot theme at Louis Vuitton? We loved seeing it during NY Fashion Week and huge installations in Paris. Not only that, but it certainly inspired a lot of what we saw going out with our polka dot collections. Remember when we blogged about the  windows at LV in NYC featuring a collaboration with artist Yayoi Kusama?

If you're thinking about purple

We were so inspired by yesterday's purple Tabletop Tuesday, we dove into our inspiration boards for more plum perfection. Various shades of purple have been popping from planners and brides alike, so we thought we'd share a few fun tabletops in this illustrious hue.

The image above (from a beautiful wedding designed by DFW EVENTS which we will be sharing soon!) has the classic stylings of a timeless and traditional bride - a perfect match for our Sophie and Loren Victorian-inspired china collections.
