What We Are Pinning For April

Thursday, April 3, 2014
Pinterest is a great source of inspiration for what we do and great platform for us to share images of our work as well.  We love how genius it is to house a place for all those images floating around and a great way to showcase ideas.

With April now upon us, we want to share our favorite pins and what we are looking forward to this month!  For more ideas and images of our pieces, check out our P.O.S.H. ® Pinterest page to see all our pins.

Monday, February 17, 2014
We absolutely adore our P.O.S.H. Petites.  There is something so fun about putting together pieces that are fun for kids, yet make an event still sophisticated.  Today we are taking it to the kid’s table for our Monday Moodboard inspiration.

The Big Chill

2014 is definitely storming...as in ice, snow, and incredible wind chills. This may be one of the coldest January's yet in Texas. In order to warm us up, we're brainstorming winter entertaining with haute looks even in the coldest temperatures. Get the look below.

1.  Dress the party with long, silk gowns worthy of a night on the town topped with layers of knits and furs. You'll be sitting pretty (and warm) even if the power goes out.
2. The look of our distressed ivory chiavari is a favorite for rustic winter weddings and events. It obviously looks great in outdoor settings but also has the proper style for seriously stylish entertaining well-heeled guests.
3. You really can never go wrong with a white place setting, especially if it's a Simply Platinum Dinner Plate mixed with Gold Leaf China.
4. The perfect party favor is one that keeps guest warm of course. We love the idea of cashmere throws that can easily be layered and thrown across legs and shoulders.
5. Warm up your core with a hot beverage, from the hot toddy to good old fashioned shots of whiskey, we have just the glassware for you.

MM // Thanksgiving

Monday, November 18, 2013
Clockwise from top left: Mottahedeh Charger and Tree China, Vintage Crystal Compotes, Prada Jacket, Contrella Salad Plate, Hot Toddy Glasses, Jan Barboglio Charger with Barcelona Gold and Sevres China, Carmen Dell'Orefice, Gold Radiance Charger

Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week? If you've left planning to the last minute, might we suggest a few options for your hosting duties with this week's moodboard.

1. Dress festively and with flair, a 'la Carmen Dell'Orefice. Jewel tones are always a fall hit, but if you do stick with neutrals, go for detailed textures like leather, fur, and tweed.
2. Don't neglect your tabletops! A fabulous linen, like the traditional bengaline moires, create a perfect foundation for pretty place settings.
3. Charge it up with textured like the Jan Barboglio or Golden Radiance Chargers.
4. China should reflect the season. Mottahedeh Tree is perfect for fall, but go with the pattern that best reflects your personal setting and atmosphere.
5. Toast the season with personalized drinks served up in specialty glassware.

Moodboard Monday // Halloween

Monday, October 28, 2013

Can you believe this is the last week of October? For all of those Halloween enthusiasts (Jami, we're looking at you!), we have the goodies to get your going while you prep for trick-or-treaters and spooky guests arriving at your home this week.

Row 1: Make an amazing pumpkin punch or spiced cider served in our Irish Glass. Image via here / / One of our favorite bloggers, Waiting on Martha, created an eerily cool scene for a Halloween party. We loved her presentation of punch and stemware. See all her glorious details here.
Row 2: Even more Waiting on Martha, from candy apples to eyeball amuse bouche. Style Me Pretty covered the details here.
Row 3: Serve your ghoulish guests stylishly with the White Chloe Goblet while refreshments stay cool in your customized pumpkin cooler. If beer isn't your thing, how about a fun Poison Apple drink in a crystal coup.
Row 4: Celebrate the Day of the Dead with Onyx Stemware. // Kelly Wearstler styles her Beetlejuice dinner rather stylishly, don't you think? // Going for elegance rather than eerie? Mint julep cups and mixed metals approach the evening with a stunning rather than spooky vibe.
Row 5: Black striped linens will make even the plainest tablescape pop. // For even more delicious yet festive options for serving drinks, our Autumn Ardor page is filled with our favorite ways to imbibe, like this Rosemary Pear Vodka drink.
Row 6: Amber Goblets add a nice touch to your harvest tabletop. // Decorate everything from your bar cart to your entry way. Our favorite finds for Halloween decorating are on Domaine

Moodboard Monday: Fall Picks

Monday, September 16, 2013

This weekend marks the first official days of Fall. Get a jumpstart on your Fall fete and check out how we get inspired with our Autumn Ardor Pinterest board. Is there a better way to start the week? Herewith, a few of our favorite things:
1. We're still going gaga (much like everyone else) over Gatsby-themed and inspired parties. Our Sophia and Loren collections take the cake for elegant patterns.
2. We love Fall fashion, especially the ladylike apparel making its appeal known to fabulous fashionistas.
3. Hosting a wine night? Riedel is the no-fail choice of sommeliers and hostesses alike.
4. Our POSH Vintage collection has the perfect mix for your mixers, including these Gatsbyesque champagne coupes.
5. A look for the modern gal - fall florals and a chic t-shirt - our favorite.
6. We love Fall favors, especially engraved fruits - such a nice touch for a guest to see upon sitting down.
7. We love a good arm party, especially one with Hermes and Michael Kors.
8. Ambiance is always important, and what better way to put your old wine bottles to use than as a centerpiece of candles?
9.  Fifty shades of gray? When it comes to nails, we say YES.
10. The time has finally come when you can enjoy coffee and hot beverages (hello, Pumpkin Spice!) without sweating every sip.
11. Elegant seating and traditional tabletops will never go out of style. Fall is the perfect time to practice your presentation before the holidays.

Moodboard: Earth Day

Monday, April 22, 2013
When designer Philippe Stark said, "We need to look at the idea of renting rather than owning," he likely envisioned a world that celebrates Earth Day, every day. While we are far from doing everything we should, we are getting better. Women's Health Magazine published statistics from a survey of 500 brides and found that 78 percent of them were making their weddings more environmentally friendly by donating leftover food (37 percent), using locally sourced flowers (35 percent), and using sites like GreenBrideGuide.com to figure out how to reduce waste from their big day. You know the saying, we have but one life and one earth, so let's take care of it.

Check out our Earth Angel board on Pinterest to set more ideas on tablescapes, centerpieces inspired by Earth's gorgeous floral and fauna. We even have pins for POSH Petite parties where the idea of reusing and recycling plays a huge part in everything from decorations to party favors. Tell us, how do you your part?

Moodboard: Blushing Romance

Wednesday, February 20, 2013
Today's moodboard serves as serious inspiration for #WeddingWednesday. Thousands of blooms (roses, tulips, hydrangea), hundreds of guests, dozens of names (Neiman Marcus, Jimmy Choo, Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, Oscar de la Renta), more than a few amazing vendors (see full list below), and one beautifully in love couple.

Jordan Payne of Jordan Payne Events had a hand in designing everything for the bride, from the luscious cascades of florals to the amazing stationary and paper goods. Her concept brought the bride's romantic hues of pink and gold to life. We are in love with every aspect of this blushing bride's fairytale wedding. For more details on how Jordan brought it all together, visit here.

Get the look with P.O.S.H. COUTURE RENTALS: The bride loved our Mottahedeh Lace Charger, Gold Leaf China Collection, Gold Leaf Glassware and Stemware, and Parisian Stemware.

If you're thinking about purple

Wednesday, January 16, 2013
We were so inspired by yesterday's purple Tabletop Tuesday, we dove into our inspiration boards for more plum perfection. Various shades of purple have been popping from planners and brides alike, so we thought we'd share a few fun tabletops in this illustrious hue.

Left: Floral design by GERANIUM LAKE FLOWERS | Photography by REBEKAH JOHNSON PHOTOGRAPHY | Right: Event Planning by AMBER EVENTS | Photography by ELIZABETH MEDINA PHOTOGRAPHY | More images can be found at STYLE ME PRETTY
If you're thinking purple in a more feminine yet relaxed environment, say, an outdoor reception, then consider embracing natural elements. Let the texture of the outdoors reflect in your choices for tabletop. Get the look at P.O.S.H. with Rattan Chargers, purple silk runners, and Pure glassware. (See the look above)

If you're thinking purple with a formal approach to gowns and decor then the bottom look is for you. This gorgeous tablescape works indoor or outdoors. Purple is a huge focus of the tablescape with a grand floral centerpiece so touches of gold with tabletop will bring the whole together. Get the look at P.O.S.H. with Royal Glassware, Gold Radiance Chargers, Barcelona Gold China, and custom napkin rings. (See look below)

Nostalgia: A Kentucky Christmas with Marin

Wednesday, December 19, 2012
If anything, the holidays should be a time to reflect on our family and blessings. With everything going on in the world around us, that sentiment is only too apropos this December. With that in mind, we asked a couple of our dear friends to share the very things that make Christmastime so special for their families.

We know Marin Fiske-Rankin as a friend and creative Events and Food Service Manager at SMU's Meadows Museum. (You may remember her handiwork from this post on the Velazquez Black Tie Dinner in honor of the collaboration with the famed Prado Museum.) Her sense of humor and sweet disposition immediately brought her to mind for this post, but once we found out she grew up on a horse-racing farm in Kentucky, we knew she would have great memories to share with us. See what makes a Kentucky Christmas so special below and check back tomorrow for a tabletop inspired by Marin and her scrumptious English and Kentucky recipes.

Top Image: MARIN AS A CHILD ON HER HORSE, SALLY / MARIN AS WE KNOW HER TODAY | Middle Image: THE GATES AND CORINTHIA GATE ARE ACTUALLY PICTURES FROM MARIN'S FAMILY HORSE-RACING FARM | Bottom Image: NOTHING BEATS SHARING CHRISTMAS IN YOUR PJ'S WITH FAMILY IN KENTUCKY
Thank you for sharing with us, Marin. POSH friends, we'd love to hear what memories make you nostalgic for the holidays.
