Moodboard: Color of the Year 2013

Wednesday, January 2, 2013
2013 is officially here! Have you made any resolutions? We came up with a few...

In regards to number one on our list, you've probably seen by now that Pantone has released it's color of the year as EMERALD! This jewel tone is a favorite of ours. (Jami and Laurel picked it for an upcoming trend this past fall - read about it here.) We couldn't resist making a moodboard, which is sure to inspire your party planning for the rest of the year. Tell us, how would you incorporate emerald into your life?

Tabletop Tuesday: Blue Winter

Tuesday, November 27, 2012
Today actually feels like Winter is nearing - no small feat for Texas, even this close to December. With the air crisp and Christmas lights up around town, we're getting in the mood for fun, fur-wearing weather. Going through tabletops for today's post, we found this gorgeous tabletop from the NACE 2012 Tabletop Competition designed by the phenomenal Branching Out team led by Debby Jewesson. It's nearly a tabletop that transcends seasons - the bright colors can transition to spring or be just the right amount of blue for a winter tablescape. With Elvis' "Blue Christmas" playing in the background, it's certainly the perfect backdrop for a lively holiday party. We can't get enough of Debby's designs, and we're sure you'll feel the same way. Think of this as an early Christmas present. Enjoy!

Outfit to Tabletop: A Touch of Turquoise

Monday, August 20, 2012
Like you, we're obsessed with sea of style out there in the blogoshere. One of our favorites is an L.A. based style blogger originally out of Dallas - Devon Rachel. Her style is classy and transcends the trends. When we saw her Turquoise in Texas post, we knew we wanted to see if we could take one of our favorite colors and transition it from Devon's outfit to two different POSH approved tabletops: one, a fun and funky mixture of print and color, and the other a more traditional streamlined tabletop. We fell in love with both looks. Which would you use?

Devon wears a Parker top with a Lauren Elan 'Olivia' necklace, and Michael Kors purse. (See more of Devon and her outfit here). To transition from the outfit to tabletop, we chose an Ivory Nu Silk linen from Resource One (exclusively available at POSH), and layered the pop of color and print with our Scalloped Acrylic Charger in turquoise and Leopard China. We love how Devon brings in touches of gold with her jewelry, so we brought in our best gold flatware - the Dynasty 24 Karat flatware collection.

If fun and funky doesn't really fit your vibe, we also transitioned this into a more traditional tabletop.

Start off again with a neutral palette. We chose the Oatmeal linen and layered it with Natural Metallic Weave lined with Green Tea Sateena runner from Resource One. Begin with a Silver Radiance Charger, then layer with our Barcelona Silver Dinner Plate, Silver Bead Charger, Barcelona Silver Salad Plate, and Silver Radiance B&B. Complete the silver look with our exclusive Silver Goblet.
