Drink // Spiked Hot Almond Cocoa

Wednesday, November 6, 2013
Wendy's hot beverage served in our vintage shooters (left) and Gold Floral Lace Hot Toddy demitasse (right).

What to make for the parties you'll be hosting now that cooler weather has arrived? That's exactly what we asked Wendy Krispin, president of Wendy Krispin Catering in Dallas. One of her favorites is a Southern holiday classic with two of our favorite holiday elements for foodie fun - spiked and hot. Your guests are sure to enjoy this delicious drink, especially when served in our Gold Floral Lace "Hot Toddy" demitasse or vintage shooters. We have a feeling these will be warming us up at a Christmas party or two.

Wendy Krispin Caterer, Inc. provides food, staff, and party planning for everything from corporate lunches and wedding to seated dinners and fundraisers. You can taste her gastronomic goodness at Royal 60 at the International on Turtle Creek for lunch Monday - Friday. To learn more about Wendy and her magic, visit here.

Tabletop Tuesday // Soft Glow

Tuesday, November 5, 2013
POSH Place Setting: Arte Italica Cream Charger, Michelangelo Flatware, Vintage Green Goblets, White Hemstitch Napkin, Gold Chiavari Chairs with White Tufted Cushions. Resource One Floral Overlay, exclusively at POSH. Centerpieces by Junior at The Garden Gate
We are in the business of celebrating, and it is an honor when that focus shines on bright young minds in Dallas. For a dinner honoring The Hockaday School's Centennial Celebration, hues of pink, cream, and amber created a soft glow, apropos for illuminating the success of a visionary school and what are sure to be future female leaders.

Vintage Amber Goblets with new Arte Italica Cream Charger are an ideal mix of honoring the past, cherishing the present, and looking towards the future for a Hockaday luncheon.

The Hockaday School, Dallas' premier secondary school for girls has been left with quite a legacy by it's visionary founder Miss Ella Hockaday since its inception in 1913. Now celebrating their Centennial Campaign and  distinguished impact on young women in Dallas and beyond , Hockaday is proving the future is now with a year-long timeline of educational opportunities and celebrations. We are in the Lean In generation, and education for young women has never been more important. We love and appreciate a school that gives a strong voice to our female counterparts and look forward to seeing what these new voices of a generation will do for future of Texas and the world. Thank you, Hockaday, for making an impact. Learn more about The Hockaday School and the Centennial Celebration

The gorgeous place setting chosen to honor this specific Holiday luncheon created a soft glow of amber, light rose, and cream for an unforgettable tabletop. We can see this at late Fall luncheons, romantic weddings, and holiday gatherings. The mix of vintage goblets with a refined Arte Italica charger is the ideal mix for honoring the past while looking towards the future. Now that is worthy of a toast.

Sight Set on Winter

Monday, November 4, 2013

With the clocks turning back and evenings get darker and chillier, we get a little more nostalgic. From setting festive tabletops and decorating our homes, our sight is set on the holidays. Nothing is more magical than gathering with friends and families to embrace the past while setting in place new memories for future generations. To us, a tabletop means family (both those given to us and those we choose), and we have hand-picked pieces for the season that are sure to fit into your own holiday traditions. This week, we will go over the power of simplicity and the art of layering for unforgettable tabletops that will linger in the hearts and minds of those fortunate enough to sit at your table. Until then, refer often to our Harvest Moon and Winter Wonder pinterest boards.
