Love the Look // Leopard

Thursday, September 26, 2013

Animal prints always make a strong statement come time for cool weather. And, as we all know, leopard is a neutral that never goes out of style. If you can pull off an animal print accessory, then you should be able to bring that look to your tabletop for a personalized look. Whether it's just a hint of leopard with a custom linen alongside a chic and timeless china pattern, like Gold Scroll China (shown left, above) with Christofle Flatware, then you can pull off of the animal print with an Amber Goblet or Elise Cut Crystal Stemware. However, if you really want to make a statement (and why not?!), then produce an outstanding tabletop with the complete Leopard China set that will have all your guests wanting to take a walk on the wild side. It takes a special woman to pick leopard for her place setting, and we want to be her friend.

WW: Ornate Beauty

An ornate place setting designed by Jordan Payne. Photography by Thisbe Grace Photography. POSH place setting: Gold Bead Glass Charger, Sevres Dinner Plate, Classico Water Goblet.
We were thrilled to see this feature on CeciStyle Magazine with a luxurious Napa Valley wedding. Jordan Payne of Jordan Payne Events created an opulent affair for bride and groom Alice and Jason. Jordan's creative counterpart - the award-winning Ceci Johnson of Ceci New York, created an invitation suites that captured the ornate details of the event in paper form. We feel about Alice the way we sure Jordan and Ceci did, she is the epitome of the modern bride - elegant, enchanting, and appreciative of the details that take tradition with a twist to reflect their lifestyle and attitude. In other words, Alice is a POSH bride after our own hearts.

Alice's wedding invitation suite (above) and her glorious wedding inspired Ceci to create her own photoshoot around opulent details, as well as floral masterpieces that can only be described as true works of art. Her crowning achievement (below) can also be seen on her blog. Go here to see all of the amazing images of the events and her creative process.

Now, who is sufficiently inspired to create a beautiful event? Thanks Ceci and Jordan for sharing this wonderful event with us. We can't wait to see what you both come up with next!

Tabletop Tuesday: PETITE Peter Rabbit

Tuesday, September 24, 2013

Can you say adorable? For the 2014 NACE Tabletop Competition, Mathes & Co. designed an incredible table for all those little POSH Petites out there . The classic childhood tale of our favorite mischievous bunny Peter Rabbit influenced this lush creation, complete with carrot-shaped favors and garden-inspired tabletop collections. The only thing missing are a few cute kiddos to enjoy this fun theme!

Outfit to Tabletop: The 65th Emmy Awards

All celebrity images via Style.com //  Tabletop clockwise from top left: Emerald Round Linen from Resource One / Royal Blue Bark Linen / Black + Gold China Collection / Vintage Amber Goblets / Blue + White China / Ivory Petal Taffeta Line from Resource One, exclusively at POSH

If you watched the Emmy's last night, chances are you had a few touching moments (RIP James Gandolfini), a few laughs (Will Ferrell is the best; Merrit Wever won over new fans), and upsets (Bryan Cranston really didn't win? What?!). One thing we can all agree on is that the red carpet did not disappoint. There wasn't anything we didn't love, although we definitely had our favorites. Case in point:

Connie Britton in Naeem Khan - A pretty bird in a deservedly gorgeous gown fitting of her and her Nashville character. We'd take this peacock inspired look to new levels for tabletop with Resource One custom couture linens in jewel tones or a royal blue bark.

Robin Wright in Ralph Lauren - First of all, every Ralph Lauren dress on the red carpet captured the movie star elegance we have come to expect from one of our favorite designers. Second of all, how happy is everyone for Ms. Wright that she has an amazing show that showcases her incredible talents and beauty? This haute little number she's wearing is just too cool. We'd translate this to an art deco inspired tabletop easily. It's like a modern Gatsby.

Allison Williams in Ralph Lauren - We love this young star because she has poise and elegance that belies her age. Another gorgeous Ralph Lauren gown in the dazzling blue that is now Pantone's Color of the Year for 2014. Such a timeless look is fitting of a modern day princess and fits a classic blue + white tabletop to a T.

Kerry Washington in Marchesa - Two of our favorites, the inimitable actress who nails Olivia Pope and the designing duo that has captured everyone's hearts, makes for one unforgettable look. The texture of couture with a sweet elegance reminds us of couture Ivory Petal Taffeta linens from Resource One, exclusively at POSH Couture Rentals.

What were your favorite looks of the night? Anna Gunn and Michelle Dockery also made our list...and just about everyone else!
