What Wowed Us: The Silver Standard

Friday, May 4, 2012
Take a peek at these beautiful photos from a private wedding at the Northwood Country Club in Dallas. These gorgeous images are a prime example of how simple layering with a few ornate pieces can create a classy and timeless table top. The stars of the evening? White Sequin Mesh over Silver Taffeta Satin, White Satin with Silver Soutache Cap, and Silver Satin Buffets. In other words: the Silver Standards. (Resource One, Inc. Love the white sequin mesh!

Encore: OnStage at The Dallas Opera

Thursday, May 3, 2012
The Dallas Opera offers OnStage, a brilliantly conceived dinner and dramatic event featuring an exclusive dinner literally onstage at the Winspear Opera House complete with private performances from opera stars. Their tag line is "to dine as a Prima Donna should," so it's no wonder they picked our glamorous black chiavari chairs. Learn more here.

Bold black adds glamour and gusto worthy of an opera performance.

That chandelier is a star all of its own.

On Trend: White OUT!

Wednesday, May 2, 2012
If you can't tell, we're having a white moment. Check out the fashion that inspired the newest additions to our showroom - the classic white oak folding chair.

WhoWhatWear wouldn't steer you wrong. Loving the white-on-white and lace from our favorite street style mavens and runway divas.

New to the Showroom: White Oak Folding Chair

Classics never go out of style. This traditional white oak folding chair adds style and ease to any event.

Despite our love for color and embellished everything, there are days when we crave a pure palette. Fortunately, the white-on-white trend is inspiring us to keep it clean and classic from our wardrobes to our event designs. Take this trend to your next event with our white oak folding chair - brand new to our showroom. From fashion shows to weddings, make sure your event blends your distinguished taste with the superior ease of this classic seating.

Harvey Nichols used the folding chair for his runway show.
White is perfect for a pristine beach inspired venue.

Tabletop Tuesday: POSH Petite

Tuesday, May 1, 2012
As you can see from the previous post, we had the chance to contribute to the Salvation Army's Fashion Show Auxiliary Luncheon yesterday. Here is a peek at the POSH Petite line dreamed up by Jami Goetze and Laurel Howell - perfect for a birthday party or children's area at your next event or wedding.

Our ladies love Serendipity, the New York City cafe known for it's over-the-top Frrrozen Hot Chocolate and sweets and treats. We extended the theme to our girls table with a serendipitous birthday party, complete with pink polka dot plates, hot pink scalloped chargers, pink carnival glasses, and black and white striped linens.  The buffet held an adorable ferris wheel cupcake holder with a variety of pedestals, platters, and milk glass for treats from Society Bakery.
Surprises come in small packages: These miniature pink chiavari chairs pack a punch. What little girl wouldn't want this for a birthday party? This is also perfect for a flower girl table at your wedding.
The girls aren't the only ones having fun. We went with a nautical theme for the boys. Orange cups and footed bowls, rattan charges, and navy linens were a hit for little sailors.

Toast: Salvation Army Fashion Show

Yesterday, POSH had the pleasure of contributing to the DFW Salvation Army's Doing the Most Good With Your Clothes Fashion Show at the Fairmont Hotel. Emcee's Pat and Emmitt Smith lit up the room with their presence, and Mr. Smith shared a sincere story of how the Salvation Army shaped his life as a young man. Without the Salvation Army, Texas might not have been able to boast that one of our favorite Cowboys is the NFL's all-time rushing leader and Super Bowl champ on top of a wildly successful career. Kudos to Jan Strimple for an amazingly staged and produced show, Drybar for great hair, and the lovely honorary chairmen, Karen Jones and Lori Jones, and co-chairs, Mary Lee Cox and Therese Rourk. Last but not least, the fabulous ladies and gentlemen of the Salvation Army. What a great and worthy cause.

A few of our favorite looks from the runway show. We especially loved the Carolina Herrera sheer bell sleeved blouse (top left).

Show stopping final look: A custom bridal gown. The camera couldn't capture the beautiful detail of this stunning dress - or it's dramatic exit.
