Take Note: Modern Rules

Thursday, August 15, 2013
With notes of masculinity and fresh modernism hitting the runways, we're inspired to move forward with bold lines in feminine palettes and truly show our stripes. We still love the elegant ease of Chanel's always on point looks, as well as the easy yet refined style of a simple stripe. As we're on the cusp of Fall's social season, we imagine our favorite tastemakers will start off with conservative theme before heading into really decadent thematic palettes in the holiday season. Are you loving the stripes and masculine trends your seeing?

Get the look for your modern place setting by stealing a note from Chanel's style book: Clean linens and minimalist palettes with a slight dash of color in just the right spot. We'd go for pure white china or stoneware, Silverbead flatware, and Ambe goblets.

Masculine looks never look so good. Chanel Miranda Kerr's look for a lunch look and steal the idea for your tabletop with our new striped linens, available in a rainbow of colors. Contact us today for details.

Petite: Stripe Party

The pattern we're loving most right now is stripes of every color. It's a classic staple when it comes to decor and fashion. And best of all, it easily transitions to every tabletop you've ever wanted to create. Take the kids table (above, right) designed by Di Fiori: It fit into the theme of the wedding in the front of the venue and allowed the kiddos to feel like they were truly a part of a special day while keeping them occupied. We like the idea of using it for summer parties and gathering as well, complete with kid stations full of fun treats and drinks. We want to know, how do you incorporate your P.O.S.H. petites into your events?

Petite: Sophisticated Baby Showers

She's having a bebe, baby! Time to get ready for a posh baby shower. Image via Pinterest.
What would a Mother's Day week be without a nod to all the new moms out there? While we will always love the tradition of pink and blue baby showers, we'd like to shower new moms with a truly posh feel. A sophisticated setting of black, white, and gold is perfect for modern moms and a Coco Chanel inspired shower is just the thing for the slightly more traditional yet stylish mother-to-be.

Pixy Studios threw the adorable shower above for a friend, and we're taking note. We love the nod to "bebe" number two with the Chanel No. 5 inspired invitations. If you have them, vintage Chanel pieces would be fun additions to the centerpieces. We also like the idea of milk glass on the buffet of what are undoubtedly the most craved foods - salty french fries, bread, Oreos, and donuts! See the full gallery here.

How about the sweet sophistication of this elegant black and white shower by the ladies at Hazelnut Photography, who both designed the shower and took the cute images above. Our favorite part is definitely the incorporation of a wooden train throughout the tablescape. This shower is perfectly styled to honor both mother and child in a cute and stylish way. Style your own sophisticated shower with P.O.S.H.: Gold Chiavari Chairs, Black Scalloped Edge Charger, White Chloe Goblet, Gold Parisian Flatware, Milk Glass, Black + White Striped Linens, Baily Stripe in Black or White.

Toast: Laurel & Derrick

Thursday, August 9, 2012

We're a bit partial to today's toast, and not just because one half of this couple is also the co-owner of POSH! You already know Laurel, but you may not know her husband Derrick. Together, these two plus their kiddos make up an important element of our POSH team. It’s impossible to imagine a day without Laurel’s infectious laugh or Derrick dropping in to say hello (and sometimes saving the day on last minute orders). We wouldn’t be anywhere without these two, so we’re taking this occasion to toast a couple that’s tried-and-true and a blessing to have in our lives, both professionally and personally. It’s been four years today since these two said I do, and we wish them many, many more years to come. To celebrate, we’re sharing pictures from their gorgeously POSH wedding. Enjoy, and Happy Fourth Anniversary, Laurel and Derrick!

Tabletop Tuesday: POSH Petite

Tuesday, May 1, 2012
As you can see from the previous post, we had the chance to contribute to the Salvation Army's Fashion Show Auxiliary Luncheon yesterday. Here is a peek at the POSH Petite line dreamed up by Jami Goetze and Laurel Howell - perfect for a birthday party or children's area at your next event or wedding.

Our ladies love Serendipity, the New York City cafe known for it's over-the-top Frrrozen Hot Chocolate and sweets and treats. We extended the theme to our girls table with a serendipitous birthday party, complete with pink polka dot plates, hot pink scalloped chargers, pink carnival glasses, and black and white striped linens.  The buffet held an adorable ferris wheel cupcake holder with a variety of pedestals, platters, and milk glass for treats from Society Bakery.
Surprises come in small packages: These miniature pink chiavari chairs pack a punch. What little girl wouldn't want this for a birthday party? This is also perfect for a flower girl table at your wedding.
The girls aren't the only ones having fun. We went with a nautical theme for the boys. Orange cups and footed bowls, rattan charges, and navy linens were a hit for little sailors.
