Our New Website is Here!

Thursday, April 17, 2014
It is officially here!  Our brand new P.O.S.H. Couture Rentals website has officially been released.  It has been a long time coming and we couldn't be more excited to share it with all of you.

There are so many amazing features on the site that make it user friendly and easy to use.  Our favorite part is the Virtual Table feature.  It allows anyone to create a custom tabletop design by mixing and matching any P.O.S.H. pieces.  What makes it even better is that it is easy to send to your P.O.S.H. Sales Stylist or to your friends!  We encourage everyone to go in and design and create your own tabletop to see how it functions and how easy and fun it is.

Along with all the fun features and products, our P.O.S.H. Preference blog will now be showcased on the new site.  Make sure you check in there to get all the latest posts and news each week!

We hope you enjoy the website as much as we do, head over to poshcouturerentals.com and enjoy!

Perfecting the Bar Cart | Proper Glasses to Use & Stock Up On

Tuesday, April 15, 2014
Rather than our usual Tabletop Tuesday, we thought we would switch things up a little bit and give you a taste of something else!  If you’re a frequent visitor of Pinterest or of certain blogs, you have probably seen quite a few bar carts and how to create a great set up.  They mostly show you an image and explain how the bar cart has really transformed the space it now occupies.  These assumptions are very true to form, a bar cart can really transform a small space and turn a drab corner into a fabulous place to assemble drinks and display decanters and pretty bottles.  And even though these items make a bar cart stand out, there are essential items that need to be included, by this we are talking about the proper glasses to use and stock up on.  Serving drinks in their appropriate glassware not only makes your hosting style timeless and elegant, but gives an extra something, something to the drink you are serving.  Since we are in the business of tabletop we are all about perfecting these types of things and sometimes could even be considered OCD about things like this, but that’s what makes us good at what we do!  Personally, what stands out the most on a bar cart are the glasses anyways.  So today we bring you what glasses are appropriate for certain drinks and alcohol types.

Enjoy!

Bar cart | While these main seven glasses are pretty essential to a perfect bar cart, the copper mug is a fun addition for the occasional Moscow Mule.

Old Fashion: Traditionally used to serve an Old Fashion drink or short mixed drinks, also used for serving whiskey on the rocks.  Click here for the recipe of an Old Fashion.
Martini: Used to serve chilled cocktails with an aromatic element, commonly known as the Martini.  The stem of the glass was designed to prevent temperature changes to the drink when held.  Martini recipes
Highball: A style of glass that every bar should have, typically used for mixed drinks.
Collins Glass:  Used to serve mixed drinks, more specifically the Tom Collins drink.
Wine Glasses: Used for both red and white wine.
Champagne Flute: Used to serve champagne, the long stem is similar to the martini glass so the temperature of the drink is not affected when being drunk.  Our favorite champagne, Veuve Clicquot and Dom Perignon!
Copper Mug: Specifically used to serve the Moscow Mule.  See our blog post on how to make these delightful drinks!
Shot Glass: Considered a novelty item usually used to measure liquor and is either drunk straight from the glass or poured into another glass.

All these glasses are available for rental at P.O.S.H. Couture Rentals®.

In addition to the glasses on the bar cart, there are some other essentials that will make your bar cart cute and stand out!

Rustic Chic

Wednesday, April 9, 2014

There is something so whimsical about a rustic chic theme.  The combination of the wood, neutral tones and elegant details creates an allure that is hard not to picture it somewhat out of a fairytale at times.  In fact, the perception of rustic chic can mean something different to everyone!  Yet to most, rustic chic bares an element of southern charm that is hard to shake (and we think it is what makes it so ideal)!  To some it may mean outdoors with all natural elements and simple at times, while others may picture a combination of garden-like décor with rustic elements.  A barn is not necessary to create a wonderful rustic chic décor!  Either way, trying to achieve a rustic chic appearance stands out on its own, if done right.

Incorporating rustic chic into your event can be done with the smallest of details to overall themes.  There are pieces such as the mason jar, string lighting, and wood farm tables or cross-back chairs that are essential to a rustic theme.  Overall, we love how these elements come together to create the perfect table and are partial to going all out to create the perfect look.
Our ideal rustic chic table design incorporates many of our P.O.S.H.® pieces to create the perfect design.  Our first thought is to use our wooden mayflower farm table and wooden cross-back chairs that exude the feeling of rustic and honestly they go together better than peanut butter and jelly.  In terms of creating the perfect tabletop, see below for what we believe are some of the best pieces to create rustic chic perfection!

Let us know what your idea of rustic chic is!

Spring Break P.O.S.H. Style

Wednesday, March 5, 2014
Spring Break is officially just around the corner, and by this we mean it’s quickly approaching in the next few weeks and days for some, yikes!  It’s a time for a little rest and relaxation if you’re lucky enough to have a few days off and if you’re not then you can pretend you are relaxing on the beaches of Mexico.  As for us moms, spring break usually brings a little more chaos with school being out, but who doesn’t love a little a chaos every now and then to stir things up, especially when the chaos involves our kids!

Since we don’t have any fabulous Spring Break plans or destinations to visit, we thought why not try and make the most of it?  With this in mind we wanted to bring the feeling of being on vacation to our homes and the only way we saw fitting was with a tabletop that oozes the feeling of spring break.  Our main interest is to keep it easy breezy!  Whether you are planning a pool party, Mexican fiesta, or a dinner outside we have you covered.  Here is how we would put together tablescapes for these parties.
We love the idea of doing a Spring Break party theme based on destinations.  Our favorites: Mexico, Miami, and the Bahamas.

MEXICAN FIESTA
When we think Mexico, we think of vibrant colors and warm sand under our feet.  Our ideal table features our cross-back farm chairs and Mayflower farm table along with our Vintage Classic and Parisian Carnival Glassware.  As a whole, it makes you feel like you are in Mexico even when you may be in your own backyard.  Viva la Mexico!

HOT MIAMI NIGHTS
No other color seems to perfectly fit a Miami themed party other than white.  The concept is so crisp and can easily translate to any table.  One of our favorites items here at P.O.S.H. Couture Rentals are our ghost chairs, these are the perfect accent to an all white table.  As far as the tabletop design goes, keep it simple, we suggest keeping the idea of modern and elegant in  mind.

BAHAMA CHIC
We are currently picturing the crystal clear blue water, ahh…paradise!  You really could do just about anything with this concept.  From beach themed to under the sea, if only we could bring all that beautiful sand to us, think beach chic.  Our picks include our round rattan charger accompanied by blue and white china collection and blue-green swirl stem glassware.  The blue hues really round out the look and give you the beachy theme!

BARBEQUE BY THE POOL
While thinking about travel for Spring Break and beautiful warm destinations is fun, sometimes it’s nice just to focus on the things you have at home and create a casual, fun environment in your backyard, usually in the form of a pool party or barbeque.
When planning a pool party or barbeque, there are certain go-to items that seem to always make it on the list.  In terms of serving pieces, these items usually are paper plates and plastic silverware, simply because of their ease and the easy clean-up.  Plain and simple, this idea is realistic, but we don’t love how plain it all seems and how wasteful these products are.  Our solution is to purchase eco-friendly products, Party City has a great variety in all different colors and designs, and incorporate a rattan or acrylic charger from P.O.S.H. to provide stability and something special.  It’s an easy way to incorporate something different than just regular old paper products.

Take it from us, any of these themes are sure to be a hit and bring Spring Break to you, no matter where you are geographically located!
