Weekend Checklist: July

Friday, July 19, 2013

1. With Summer vacations lining up, we finally get to catch up on our favorite magazines, like Architectural Digest. Plus, we've been dying to read Lean In from the brilliant mind of Sheryl Sandberg. Downloaded and ready!
2. As always, the world is obsessed with Kate Middleton, and we're right there with you. We love hearing about the royal baby watch and can't wait to see the little prince or princess.
3. We're dying to see Fly, an updated version of Peter Pan that gives Wendy a stronger voice and has received rave reviews. See it at The Dallas Theater Center.
4. Our local love is running deep for the renovations around The Joule. We can't wait to get our Pre-Fall fashion fix at TENOVERSIX and catch up with friends at Weekend Coffee or Taschen Books. Have you been? Are you going? Meet us there!

Entertain: Peach Bellinis

Thursday, July 18, 2013
Yesterday's Peachy Keen post has us yearning for our favorite summer drink - peach bellinis. Our favorite go-to recipes are shared below. When you need a light refreshment and have a heavy guest list, the sparkling peach bellini served in our Pure Champagne Flutes is just the ticket. If you are wanting something to beat the heat on scorching summer days or just want to add a beautifully presented beverage for a weekend brunch, the Australian Peach Bellini is a true crowd pleaser. We like to serve it simply in our stemless martini glass or add a chic element with our vintage glass compotes. With drinks, there are sure to be bites to eat, and the Blue + White China makes a mean combo with such classic drinks. Be sure to make enough; everyone will be coming back for seconds.

If you're feeling peachy keen

Wednesday, July 17, 2013
Pretty in peach: A simply white square dinner plate adds a modern element to this sweet peach tablescape. It's like a white tee for your couture ballgown. Jil Sander would approve.
We love a great peachy hue. It basks in Summer tablescapes with hints of orange and red or sets off a sweet yet simple place setting. Come Fall, it strikes a chord with deep browns and greens. Simply put, it's the under-appreciated neutral of the color wheel. So, if you are already thinking about peach when it comes to event decor or your fashionable attire, go for it. Peachy keen, indeed.
Chic peach: If simple is not your calling card (don't worry, we always think more is better), then call out the couture with a luxe layered look that will go from sweet to sassy with the bat of an eye. Tabletop Tuesday: Southern Romance

Southern Belle Place Setting: Floral Elegance Flatware, Mottahadeh Charger, Sevres Dinner Plate, Gold Leaf Wine Goblet, Chloe Goblet, Burlap Linen.
With Summer slowly winding down (or at least feeling cooler with all this much needed rain!), it seemed like a good to revisit this is an oldie but a goodie - a gorgeous Style Me Pretty shoot that makes you want to grab a pitcher of sweet tea and set the table for a romantic Southern evening. French Sevres China and Mottahedeh Chargers meet the deep South with country-inspired touches throughout with burlap, ruffles, mixed metals, and vintage personal finds for knockout centerpieces. See more of this sweet shoot here.

An assortment of meat and cheese served on classic catering dishes.
A cake table brought to life with amazing paper goods, personal touches, and a fantastic linen.
The same P.O.S.H. place setting on a white ranch table.
