TRADITIONS // FOUNDING FARMERS HOLIDAY

Wednesday, November 13, 2013
As Southerners, one of our favorite things about the holidays is definitely the food. We love the Founding Farmers Cookbook, (read more about it on yesterdays post). Their Holiday on the Ranch section is packed full of mouth-watering recipes sure to win over a hungry family. Their tried-and-true recipes don't really mess with tradition; rather, they are just perfected versions of holiday favorites. We've shared two below, but you'll have to get the Founding Farmers Cookbook for the rest!
Serve your Roasted Chestnut-Corn Bread Stuffing on Noritake's Mahogany Rose China and the Cranberry Relish on the Mottahedeh Tree China, available at POSH.

5 Things // November Favorites

Thursday, October 24, 2013

Five things that are packing a punch this November also happen to be our Fall favorites.
1. Arte Italica Cream Charger - Refined Italian elegance for just the right amount of ornateness with a neutral color to compliment any tabletop.
2. Mahogany Rose and Mottahedeh Tree China Collections - Fall calls for deep hues, patterns that reflect the natural autumnal landscape, and of course, style that upholds family traditions. Feast the eyes while your feasting on everything from turkey to dumplings.
3. Birch Hall Flatware - Add an Art Deco element so the first thing picked up at the table holds enough weight to not easily be forgotten.
4. Stella Goblets - Make a statement with the best color duo of all time - black and white. Our newest addition to the goblet family - the Stella - is a more mature version of our Chloe with a slim, elegant stem and substantial cup for the perfect pour.
5. Crossback Chair - Inspired by the Parisian cafe chair, these crossback chairs go well with everything from farmhouse tables to family seating.
Book your today to ensure these beauties make an appearance at your next soiree.

We love seeing what you're up to on Instagram - just look at the festive place settings above. Be sure to follow us @posh_preference for our behind-the-scenes goodies. 1 Pattern / Three Ways / Mahogany Rose

One of our favorite patterns for autumnal entertaining has to be Noritake Mahogany Rose. This complex place setting - a mixture of geometric print and floral rose overlay patterns - can be personalized in literally hundreds of ways. The contrasting dark and light hues can edge up a modern tabletop while the rose imprint brings an elegant touch that would otherwise be lost. Geometric prints and 80's throwback floral are big this Fall, both of which take center-stage with Mahogany Rose, and we couldn't love it more.

July in Texas means it's hot in here. We prefer to keep it haute by dreaming up autumnal tablescapes with fab pre-fall trends. It's all about the texture while transitioning to crisp weather, not to mention, heavy metals and glowing hues. Terra Hoebing, our Inside Sales Manager, hand-picked her favorite Fall finds for an elegant and artistic place setting. Geometric prints, classic Mottahedeh patterns, amber goblets, and 24 karat gold flatware - and even Fall favorites are on our Summer Special. What's not to love about that?

With just a few months left to plan for your Fall fetes, it's time to get over the lazy days of summer and prepare for festive evenings and cooler temperatures. If anything, it will help these triple-digit days go by a lot quicker. Tell us; what are you planning for Fall?

Tabletop Tuesday: Call of the Wild

Tuesday, March 5, 2013
We love that the exotic theme of the zoo made it to the tabletop. The palm leaf centerpiece makes just as much of a statement as a bold animal print.

Today's tabletop is for the leader of the pack. Fiercely unique with an amalgam of textures (natural elements plus exquisite couture details), this tablescape designed by Tami Winn Events is a fresh take on the formal tabletop. Tami was inspired by the location - the Fort Worth Zoo, and wanted to create a fun look for the non-traditional bride or a unique event. We think she succeeded, don't you?

A POSH tabletop takes a note from the wild as well with Rattan Round Chargers, Mottahedeh Tree Collection China, Michelangelo Flatware, Vintage Carnival Glassware in Purple, and Elise Cut Crystal.

Top, The breakdown of a gorgeous place setting. We love how the jute linens compliment the natural texture of the wild and add a neutral hue to the animal print.

On Trend: Laurel's Picks

Monday, October 22, 2012
Our favorite POSH pairings easily transition from Fall to Winter. Here, Laurel picks her favorite linens and tabletop collections and tell you why they work well alone or mixed with your personal collection for POSH perfect late Fall and early Winter tablescapes. How would you use these?

1. The Mottahedeh Tree Collection is a great pattern choice because it can be both modern and classic, rustic or contemporary, depending on the chargers and color schemes used in the tablescape. Our clients are extremely stylish, so we're always coming up with a new way to make this great collection look incredibly fresh and fun. For Fall or Winter, this is a clear choice for a stunning place setting.
2. Bronze Metallic Linens are a favorite for Fall and Winter. With baroque being so strong on the runways, we're seeing an influence of brocade linens as well. It's perfect for a luxurious tabletop for an important dinner or event. You can create an ornate tabletop with lots of metallic touches from our Couture Collections or let the linen speak for itself with the clean Simply Ivory Classic Catering Collection and a few embellished goblets depending on your personal preference and budget. The hues used in accents are really what will help transition this linen from Fall to Winter. The possibilities are endless.
3. The Jan Barboglio charger is so great. It can obviously be rustic, but the amazing thing about this design is it's unique enough to really make a couture china dinner plate completely pop. You can let your imagination run into the wild with Jan Barboglio.
4.  This Scarlet Leather Embossed Velvet linen is a favorite for the transition between seasons. The deep hue reminds me of the changing of the leaves in Fall, but then can easily transfer to traditional holiday hues. The texture alone is amazing. Again, it's one of those pieces that take your tabletop to the next level. (Check back tomorrow for a Tabletop Tuesday post featuring this great linen!) Guests don't forget a great linen or accent piece on your tabletop. With these four pieces, you have the making of a fantastic seasonal tablescape.

All pieces are rentals from POSH Couture Rentals. Linens are Resource One, exclusively at POSH Couture Rentals.

On Trend: Jami's Fall Picks

Thursday, October 4, 2012
We asked Jami to pick her favorite pieces from our Couture Collections. For  Fall, she chose the classic Maple Leaf Charger and Metallic Moss Chargers with the Exotic Bird and Mottahedeh Tree China Collections. Mix and match these collections for your needs, and you'll have a perfectly POSH tabletop.

Tabletop Tuesday: Fall Fever

Tuesday, September 18, 2012
Today's tabletop is one of Jami's favorites; it blends autumnal browns and oranges into one luscious tabletop. We decided to take this look a step further and pair a few key pieces with our POSH picks to inspire you to customize your own unique look. If you aren't struck with Fall Fever after this post, maybe we need to take you out for a Pumpkin Spice Latte.  Now, tell us how you would layer this look for Fall?

Who is Jordan Payne's ideal client? When D Weddings asked her to set the table for this guest of honor, she choose an iconic woman close to any Southern gal's heart--Pocahontas. The Dallas Arboretum's Crepe Myrtle Alley turned out to be a perfectly dreamy setting for such an event. See the tablescape that won our hearts over below.

On Trend: Julie's Picks

Thursday, June 28, 2012
Julie Smith picks her favorite rentals for summer. We promise, you'll want to scoop them up for your next shindig.

1. Mushroom Bengaline with Oyster Metallic Mesh Overlay: Naturals are big right now. And what better way to embrace summer?

2. Lily Server: A classy and clever way to add style to your amuse bouche. Check out our Five Things for a great watermelon gazpacho from Kim at Cassandra's Catering. Perfect for this dish!

3. Vintage Carnival Glassware: A stylish twist on your tabletop -- this was huge in the D Weddings Fall 2012 issue. While it's great any time of year, Julie calls this the modern mason jar. It's perfect for summer sweat tea and cold beverages.

4. Gold Floral Lace Goblet and Champagne Flute, plus the Amber Trumpet Glass: One look at these and you'll know why this is Julie's favorite way to toast a summer soiree. Touches of gold with your natural linens bring effortless elegance to your tabletop.

5. Mottahedeh Tree Charger and China: Unique and textured finishes for a dream tabletop.
