Tabletop Tuesday: Hollywood Regency

Tuesday, October 1, 2013

The glitz and glamor of the 30's Golden Age has made a major comeback in terms of event styling. Bringing in theatrical elements and luxe details, Emily Clarke channeled the look and feel of Hollywood Regency for Brides of North Texas in this polished and plush tabletop. Art Deco influences show up in the place settings with and crystal stemware with rich black and white hues mixed with gold while a geometric element in the linen. Perfect for the modern bride who wants to put a spin on tradition or tastemaker with a flair for the dramatic. Jean Harlow, eat your heart out. Place Setting: Scalloped Black Charger with Sparkle, Barcelona Gold Charger, Black Banded Dinner Plate, Black + Gold Salad Plate, Dynasty 24 Karat Flatware, Elise Cut Crystal Red and White Stemware, Onyx Champagne Flute.  All POSH Couture Rentals.

The drama continues with sweets luxuriously stacked as true confections should.

Boxwood walls create an added wow factor which tease guests arriving with the concept about to great them.
Beautifully lush florals add depth and drama to the tabletops.
To top it off, tent the head table with fabulous bold colors.

Traditional with Blue + White

Monday, August 19, 2013
There is a hint of cool weather lingering from the first cold front to grace Dallas and relieve us of triple-digit temps. It only makes our longing for Fall that much more intense. We've been loving the autumnal florals gracing the pages of our favorite magazines (especially the blue Carolina Herrera design below), and actually think that blue + white is so versatile in terms of it's traditional beloved status by tastemakers all over, that is the perfect addition to Fall tabletops. So, if you're thinking about traditional tabletops, blue hues, and needing something special for the ladies who lunch, blue + white china is just the ticket. // Get the look below with Elise Cut Crystal Stemware, Mottahedeh Chargers, Blue + White China, Michelangelo Flatware, Vintage Glass Compotes, and Natural Grand Chiavaris.

If you're thinking about the 4th of July

Monday, July 1, 2013
Left, Image via Style Me Pretty / Right, Image via Pinterest

It's officially July! The summer is flying by, so we're stopping to smell the roses this Fourth of July. Inspired by nautical prints and the great red, white, and blue, we're thinking a chic take on stars and stripes for a festive dinner at the lake. How will you celebrate the 4th?

Get the look with P.O.S.H.: Independence Day is a day of celebration, which is why we love translating Old Glory's stripes to our attire and cut crystal to our stemware. The holiday has morphed into a more laid-back affair, but we like the idea of keeping it chic and classy to offer our utmost respect. Elise Cut Crystal in the clear winner when it coming to making a statement toast for such a special day.

Tabletop Tuesday: Artistic Black Tie

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Elise Cut Crystal Stemware is the only way to toast the artist you created such beautiful European vistas. Cheers to Martin Rico y Ortega. All tabletop rentals unless otherwise mentioned by P.O.S.H. Couture Rentals
Celebrating the Spanish painter Martin Rico y Ortega at the Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University was a culturally significant black tie affair, and with gorgeous tabletops to boot! The amazing event planning team, led by Marin Fiske-Rankin, focused on rich textures, magnificent hues, and ornate embellishments that matched the air of sophistication of the exhibition, which will be inspiration for many a summer soiree. Thanks to the great Tamytha Cameron Photography for the great images.

Toast: Beginning of Summer

Friday, June 7, 2013
With our P.O.S.H. Petites getting out of school this week, we know summer is nearly here. Poolside parties, June weddings, long evenings on the patio, and early morning lingering brunches can be expected. After seeing the end of year awards go out, we decide to toast this weekend with our own set of winners. Herewith, a few of our favorite stems.

Tabletop Tuesday: Blue + White

Tuesday, April 16, 2013
Mottahedeh Lace Charger with Blue+White China is the perfect foundation for a timeless setting. Serving fresh blueberries in our Vintage Glass Compotes is a nice added touch. Rentals, POSH.

Blue and White china calls to mind the tablescapes of the most iconic of tastemakers, from the timeless Jackie O to the more modern Tory Burch. When we see a place setting like this we think of memories being made around the table by friends and family, long weekends on the East Coast, and Southern pomp and circumstance. There is definitely no reason to be blue when looking at this gorgeous foundation. We've had our mind on this beauty since last Fall, when Mathes and Co. designed it for the NACE Color Me a Cure Tablescape Competition. It is the perfect toast to the longer days of Spring and Summer. This fantastic celebration of classic designs (blue + white china, striped linens) calls for guests to linger long after the food has been served. We can just imagine the conversations that would fill the air.

Natural Grand Chiavari Chairs for comfortable sitting makes it that much easier to enjoy a gorgeous centerpiece from JACKSON DURHAM / A beautiful Navy Stripe linen from LA TAVOLA FINE LINENS sets the tone for a relaxed yet luxurious table.

Tabletop Tuesday: Yellow + Gold

Tuesday, March 12, 2013
Yellow is a Spring neutral that we love throwing around our tabletops. But add gold, as Jordan Payne did for the Brides of North Texas, and you've taken your neutral to a knockout. Get inspired this Spring Break with yellow + gold.

Tabletop Tuesday: Call of the Wild

Tuesday, March 5, 2013
We love that the exotic theme of the zoo made it to the tabletop. The palm leaf centerpiece makes just as much of a statement as a bold animal print.

Today's tabletop is for the leader of the pack. Fiercely unique with an amalgam of textures (natural elements plus exquisite couture details), this tablescape designed by Tami Winn Events is a fresh take on the formal tabletop. Tami was inspired by the location - the Fort Worth Zoo, and wanted to create a fun look for the non-traditional bride or a unique event. We think she succeeded, don't you?

A POSH tabletop takes a note from the wild as well with Rattan Round Chargers, Mottahedeh Tree Collection China, Michelangelo Flatware, Vintage Carnival Glassware in Purple, and Elise Cut Crystal.

Top, The breakdown of a gorgeous place setting. We love how the jute linens compliment the natural texture of the wild and add a neutral hue to the animal print.

Hues to Use: Gold

Friday, January 18, 2013
When we caught sight of this gorgeous gold place setting styled and photographed by Lightbox Photography, we couldn't wait to share it with you. Regal and luxurious, it's perfect for the wedding head table or an important dinner party. This was shot in October, so it has a fall feel, but can easily be updated to spring with a seasonal centerpiece and bright linen. Check out more from Teresa Gardner and Lightbox Photography here.
