Agenda // City Lights

Friday, November 15, 2013

Have a great weekend everyone! Here is what's on our agenda:

SEE: Holiday season is officially here. As always, Downtown Dallas is taking it seriously with family friendly festivities along Main Street beginning at 6 PM Nov. 15th. The lighting ceremony will be at 7 PM at Main Street Garden. You'll enjoy pictures with Santa, live entertainment, street vendors, and more.
READ: Liv Tyler may be known as the beautiful muse/rocker child/actress, but she's about to be known for her manners. Seriously. Along with her grandmother Dorothea Johnson, Liv has compiled an elegant guide to 21-centry manners for professionals in business and social arenas. You may have your doubts, but it is surprisingly insightful and spot-on. Get it here.
ENTERTAIN: Check out these pretty place setting picked out from the Brides of North Texas team. You'll be itching to entertain or get inspired for setting your holiday tabletops in no time. POSH Place Setting: Scarlet Filigree Charger, Sevres China, Vintage Glass Compotes.
BUY:  The Barneys Holidays Lookbook is the absolute best, y'all. We our especially loving the home for the holidays section. What is the perfect gift for the hostess with the mostess? The Fornasetti Bocca Round Tray from the iconic photographic black and white face collection (love those bright red lips) and a Rablabs Emerald Bottle Stopper for that great bottle of wine you're bringing over.
INSPIRE: We came across the Amazing Pictures facebook page by chance and are now officially addicted. Seriously, the most amazing pictures you've ever seen and sure to inspire you this weekend.

To Do: Weekend Checklist

Friday, January 11, 2013

One: FORNASETTI - We are a sucker for collecting calendar plates, but the 2013 edition of the Fornasetti featuring a self-portrait of Piero's son Barnaba deserves a spot on our shelf. We love Barnaba. In fact, we wish we had a chance to visit his Milan shop to view an exhibition of his self-portraits.
Two: CELERIE KEMBLE FOR SCHUMACHER - Who doesn't love the fabulous interiors of Celerie Kemble? Her designs always inspire, and now we can take a small piece of her creativity with us with her wall coverings for Schumacher. See the prints here.
Third: CHARLIE ROSE WITH RORY AND BOBBY KENNEDY - Charlie Rose, a personal favorite for respectful and thorough journalism and conversation. He feels like a friend, albeit a friend not afraid to ask the hard questions. He will be here tonight (!!) at ATTPAC in the Arts District to interview Rory and Bobby Kennedy. The Kennedy's are an American dynasty, and we adored watching Ethel (Rory's crazy good and insightful documentary of Ethel's highly publicized yet private life).
Four: SMASHBOX + CURTIS KULIG - Graffiti artist Curtis Kulig is well known for his Love Me series. Add his creative designs to the packaging of one of our favorite beauty lines and it's a win-win. Get it.
