Entertain: A Cocktail Bar with a Twist

Break tradition and get inspired by the always wonderful Mary McDonald. House Beautiful found her easily accessible bar the perfect twist to a cocktail hour. We were so inspired by the bright colors and simplistic setup, we recreated Mary's setting with POSH pieces. By turning a tabletop into a friendly self-serve table area rather than the traditional bar, guests have a chance to create personalized cocktails in bright stemware perfect for everything from a martini to champagne! 

Serving it up with a twist: We love adding traditional elements (classic silver pieces, blue and white vases) along with bright, modern pieces (exotic prints, ghost chairs, fun textures).

Toast: Andy Warhol

"An obsession with fame and brand names is the essence of Andy Warhol's influence, some say." This quote from the New York Times struck us as we were catching up on one of our favorite artists of all time, the godfather of Pop Art himself, Andy Warhol. Say what you will about his attitude, his methods, and his madness, there is no denying the talent of a man who transformed pop culture and the art world. We can now only imagine what his talents could have brought to an internet-savvy world. So today, on his birthday, we toast Andy Warhol. May his fifteen minutes of fame never end.

Tabletop Tuesday: Frida Kahlo

Time to get festive with a tabletop designed for a woman whose artistry truly knew no bounds--Frida Kahlo. DFW Events along with The Garden Gate created a bright and blooming tablescape worthy of this wildflower of an artist. The main focus? Our vintage Classic and Parisian Carnival Glassware. Anything with color is spot on for summertime. I love anything hot pink, coral, orange or neon, which are trendy right now. Summer is the best time to break out vibrant color hues, and they are always chic paired with classic white. I like a white cloth with vivid tabletop items, like the Chloe goblets or scalloped neon chargers with the green chiavari. I also love the parfait overlays from Resource One. Just remember, an amazing burst of color or print can go a long way. This summer, peach hues in any variation seems to be the biggest trend.

Blue and white is my current summer obsession, especially with the blue and green goblets. The colors are amazing, and they bring a simple white hemstitch to life. The Sevres Collection, one of Jami's picks, is another classic favorite. I love that you can mix the whole set, and no matter how many times you see them there are so many beautiful colors in the china you can pull a different look every time.

Moodboard: Brights + Leopard

We know a POSH lady or two who considers leopard print to be a neutral. Although that may not be a rule you're comfortable with, this fabulous fete may just change your mind. (And, hey. Some rules really are made to be broken.) Bring a sense of fun to your next party with a playful, multicolored palette like this table top featured in D Weddings. Sweeten the deal by letting the bold pattern of leopard print china show off by framing them with bright orange and pink scalloped chargers. Add in more pops of color with light green goblets (love our Chloe goblet!) and bright blooms. The exuberant and fashionable spirit of this haute tablescape begs the questions: Who wouldn't want to be invited to the party?
