Tabletop Tuesday | Green With Envy

Tuesday, February 18, 2014
Tabletop Tuesday is a special part of our P.O.S.H. Preference blog every week.  It gives us gals at P.O.S.H. Couture Rentals a chance to share some of our favorite pieces, tabletops, and events that feature many of our beautiful pieces.
This Tuesday, we are green with envy and coveting our Green Chapuis Sevres Antique Collection by Sadek and Green Vintage Carnival Glassware.  We love everything about these pieces from their intricate details to their ornate colors and we think you will love them too!

Tabletop Tuesday: Call of the Wild

Tuesday, March 5, 2013
We love that the exotic theme of the zoo made it to the tabletop. The palm leaf centerpiece makes just as much of a statement as a bold animal print.

Today's tabletop is for the leader of the pack. Fiercely unique with an amalgam of textures (natural elements plus exquisite couture details), this tablescape designed by Tami Winn Events is a fresh take on the formal tabletop. Tami was inspired by the location - the Fort Worth Zoo, and wanted to create a fun look for the non-traditional bride or a unique event. We think she succeeded, don't you?
For a behind the scenes video of the shoot, click here

A POSH tabletop takes a note from the wild as well with Rattan Round Chargers, Mottahedeh Tree Collection China, Michelangelo Flatware, Vintage Carnival Glassware in Purple, and Elise Cut Crystal.

A close up of the Mottahedeh Tree Collection.

Top, The breakdown of a gorgeous place setting. We love how the jute linens compliment the natural texture of the wild and add a neutral hue to the animal print.

Moodboard: Paris, je t'aime

Thursday, October 4, 2012
Why do we love Paris so much? The whimsical and chic of lovers and travelers strikes a chord in both young and old. We are no stranger to this Parisian addiction. The feeling must be in the air because we're seeing a lot of behind-the-scenes action on photo shoots based around the idea of French love, Marie Antoinette, and of course, serious coverage from Paris Fashion Week. Over the next week, POSH Preference will be in Paris,  sharing the sights and inspiration from the city of love and lights. If you have a smartphone, be sure to follow us on Instagram (user name posh_preference) or here with your computer. In the meantime, get in the mood with one of our favorite bloggers - the adorable Garance Dore - and her Pardon My French series.

Top Row: Parisian Chic: A Style Guide by Ines de al Fressange * A stylish guide to the ultra cool Ines de la Fressange. I mean, can't we all learn something from the lady who inspires Jenny Lyons and closes Karl Lagerfield's Chanel runway shoes in her fifties? /  Paris, Je t'aime * Great quote; great film. / The Louvre * Amazing art inspires everything. / Ladurée * The only sweets that matter, since 1862.
Middle Row: The Eiffel Tower * This image captures what we love best about Paris - a magical morning on a terrace built for two with the Eiffel Tower in the background. / Marie Antoinette * The ill-fated queen with great sartorial influence and a flair for phrases ("Let them eat cake.") has inspired us since childhood. Even Sofia Coppola couldn't let her be lost in history. (Kirsten Dunst as Marie Antoinette.)
Bottom: Champagne * The only true place to partake in the bubbly! / Vintage Parisian Carnival Glassware * The perfect glassware for your inner Francophile, available at POSH Couture Rentals. / The Palace of Versailles * Need we say more?

Tabletop Tuesday: Pink & Purple

Tuesday, August 21, 2012
Pink and purple can be adorable, they can be sweet, but if you pick your tabletop carefully, they can also transform your setting into an lavish affair. Jordan Payne of Jordan Payne Events perfectly captures this air of opulence with an ombre mix of candy toned hues with darker purples. Revealed in Brides of North Texas' Fall 2012 issue, this tablescape shows just how easy it is to transition pink and purple into a decidedly mature event.

Entertain: A Cocktail Bar with a Twist

Monday, August 13, 2012
Break tradition and get inspired by the always wonderful Mary McDonald. House Beautiful found her easily accessible bar the perfect twist to a cocktail hour. We were so inspired by the bright colors and simplistic setup, we recreated Mary's setting with POSH pieces. By turning a tabletop into a friendly self-serve table area rather than the traditional bar, guests have a chance to create personalized cocktails in bright stemware perfect for everything from a martini to champagne!

Serving it up with a twist: We love adding traditional elements (classic silver pieces, blue and white vases) along with bright, modern pieces (exotic prints, ghost chairs, fun textures).
Get the look: (top) Resource One linen in Byzantine Brocade | Blue and White Large Vase | Chloe Goblets | Silver Champagne Chiller | (bottom, from left) Green Vintage Carnival Glassware in Classic and Parisian | Martini Compotes | Resource One Louis Ghost Chair in Amber | Trumpet Glassware | Silver Goblet

All rentals from POSH Couture Rentals. Resource One, exclusively at POSH Couture Rentals.

The Dallas Arboretum's Crepe Myrtle Alley turned out to be a perfectly dreamy setting for such an event. See the tablescape that won our hearts over below.

Moodboard: Palm Beach Posh

Thursday, June 7, 2012

With the Texas weather warming up, we're cooling off by looking at our favorite Palm Beach prints. They're popping up everywhere, from Charlotte Olympia's wedges to wallpaper and table tops!
ASOS lucite heel, Charlotte Olympia Meredith wedge, Tiffany&Co Jitney tote, bottom images via ElleDecor and Instyle Magazine.

A Privileged Life featuring C.Z. Guest on the cover, Martinique Beverly Hills wallpaper, POSH Couture Rentals Green Classic and Parisian Carnival Glass, Mrs. Lilien's Cocktail Swatchbook, a Palm Beach inspired party spread.

One of our favorite wedding planners is the inimitable Colin Cowie. He recently partnered with Resource One, Inc. linens to create a custom Palm Beach print that is spot on this Spring/Summer trend. Do you love it as much as we do? Now we just need to invite Mrs. Lilien over for some cocktails.
