Color Of The Moment: Gold

Thursday, March 27, 2014
Image via Pinterest
It seems that the color Gold is having quite a moment in everything from fashion to nail polish to interiors to pretty much just about anything you can think of.  We can’t get enough of it if you ask us, whether it’s an accent or full on, we are fans!  The Coveteur has listed Gold on their March’s Most Coveted List and we think that’s a good enough excuse to highlight how great this color is.
In terms of incorporating this color into your tabletop, it’s pretty easy.  Gold goes with just about everything, even silver!  You can use gold with your linens, chargers, china, flatware, glassware, chairs, and even florals.  Colors are such an expression of style and gold screams chic, elegant, and timeless.

Gold is such a radiant color that it adds an element of design and polish even in the most subtle of ways.  When choosing to use gold there are so many different options.  It can be just used to accent another color or it can be the main focus of design.  Whether you are going full out gold or just using accents, get creative with it and stay forever golden!

Tabletop Tuesday: Haute Hues

Tuesday, June 25, 2013

A kaleidoscope of color, perfect for summer's palette.

We love the Meadows Museum and team of event professionals at SMU (as evidenced here, here, and here). We love their love of color, authentic patterns, and presentation, whether it be the tabletops, the flowers, the band, or the food. With our summer sale now in full swing (subscribe to our newsletter to not miss any of the details), we thought it appropriate to show how to really layer place settings that can transcend any season. Herewith, a brilliant display of tabletop featuring our colorful Carnival Glassware and authentic Charles Sadek Antique Sevres Collection.

Layering isn't just for Fall: Square Rattan Charger, Mottahedeh White Lace Charger, Sevres China Dinner, Salad, Teacup and Saucer

POSH Picks: The Festive Table

Thursday, June 6, 2013
We are endlessly inspired with Oliver M. Furth's heavy hued tablescape for this month's issue of House Beautiful. Building of Spring's bright colors and the always in style jewel tones, Furth created a temptingly delicious tablescape. We're taking this idea to heart with our personal china at home and supplementing it with pops of color hand-picked from a variety of scalloped chargers, Chloe Goblets, Vintage Carnival Glassware, and chiavari chairs. The addition of a dazzling goblet or a chiavari chair in a pronounced color like green or red will take your tabletop from boring to spirited in no time.

 WHAT WE LOVE
Furth's tabletop plays with patterns and colors. For Spring, we say channel your inner artist and break out of the classic neutral heavy stylings with our P.O.S.H. Picks below.

 GET THE LOOK
Clockwise from top right; Green Chloe Goblet, Green Chiavari Chair (now on Summer Special), Green Polka Dot China, Exotic Bird China (to bring out every color), Scalloped Acrylic Chargers in Fuschia, Lime, Tangerine, Turquoise, and Gold; Vintage Parisian Carnival Glassware in Light Pink, Clear, Green, and Purple.

If you're thinking...exotic locales

Gorgeous tabletop for a radiant hostess: Get out your finest threads, kick off your shoes, and pick out the most beautiful place settings. Left and far right images by The Cana Family, courtesy of 100 Layer Cake; middle image via Pinterest.

It's that time of year when we're planning travel destinations around exotic locales. Whether or not we actually make it there or just throw together an amazing dinner for friends at our own abodes, we're hearing the Mexican Riviera calling our name. With a look perfect for a destination wedding with concepts created by Signature Consulting & Design, this radiant tabletop is perfect for the caftan wearing hostess with the mostess or boho bride.

Bring in simply floral arrangements and easels showcasing Mexican votive paintings for a gorgeous backdrop, as would the beautiful flora and fauna of traditional Southwest landscapes, such as succulents and bright colors. We take note from such scenic beauty and bring that feel to the tabletop.

Get the look with P.O.S.H.
Gold Radiance chargers, Parisian flatware, and an assortment of colorful Vintage Carnival Glassware make an ideal place setting. Throw in a chevron print here and there, and you've got a tabletop sure to transport friends and family from backyard bliss to the exotic locale you're dreaming of.

On Trend: Jami's Fall Picks

Thursday, October 4, 2012
As purveyors of tabletops, and exclusively providers of Resource One linens, we are obviously strongly influenced by fabulous linens. Jami loves the Bark linens, which range in color from Olivewood and Nutmeg to Garnett and Raisin. We love that they come in a variety of colors and maintain a luxurious texture that perfectly accessorizes any china collection. This line especially reminds us of Fall leaves and landscapes. How would you use these colors in your Fall tablesapes?

On Trend: Laurel's Picks

Monday, July 16, 2012

After getting a dose of her Agenda, see what Laurel pick's are for summer.

Acryllic Scalloped Chargers in Pink, Lime, Gold, Turquoise + Orange // Hot Pink Chloe Goblet // Green Chiavari Chair

Anything with color is spot on for summertime. I love anything hot pink, coral, orange or neon, which are trendy right now. Summer is the best time to break out vibrant color hues, and they are always chic paired with classic white. I like a white cloth with vivid tabletop items, like the Chloe goblets or scalloped neon chargers with the green chiavari. I also love the parfait overlays from Resource One. Just remember, an amazing burst of color or print can go a long way. This summer, peach hues in any variation seems to be the biggest trend.

Coral // James Nares // James Nares for Coach // (Top linens): Burnt Orange Peau D'Soie, Coral Nu Silk, Coral Peau D'Soie, Persimmon Nu Silk; (Bottom linens): Cameo Rosette, Salmon Pintuck Taffetta, Raspberry Reverence with Raspberry Nu Silk (All linens, Resource One, exclusively at POSH Couture Rentals.)

Blue and white is my current summer obsession, especially with the blue and green goblets. The colors are amazing, and they bring a simple white hemstitch to life. The Sevres Collection, one of Jami's picks, is another classic favorite. I love that you can mix the whole set, and no matter how many times you see them there are so many beautiful colors in the china you can pull a different look every time.

On Trend: Jami's Picks

1. Bamboo Folding Chair / White Hemstitch Overlay / Underlay Linens in Bright Purple Classic Velvet, Canary Classic Velvet, Wheatgrass Textured Linen, Lipstick Classic Velvet, Melon Classic Velvet, Saffron Textured Linen (All Resource One, exclusively at POSH Couture Rentals)

I love the white hemstitch overlays and folding bamboo chairs with bright underlay linens. A little bolt of color makes the natural elements really stand out.

2. Sevres Collection China with Rattan Round + Square Charger

3. Lily Flower Bowl

I love this piece for individual appetizer service.

4. Blue/Green Glassware

I really think glassware is so fun. People put a lot of thought into what they serve for drinks, so why not extend that to the glassware? This was a long overdue addition to the showroom, and it is very popular in other parts of the country. I love them and the pressed glass goblets along with our Sevres Collection.

5. Custom Chiavari Chair Treatments

These are just a few options we have. The ability to create a custom chiavari chair is unique to POSH. I see many different colors used in the New York/Hamptons area. I don't think you should be afraid of color. Your guests will love it!

(BONUS: POSH Chiavari Chairs are on special for $6 each throughout the end of the year if you place your order and a deposit by August 31, 2012. Be sure to catch this great deal!)

Asian Influence: Curtain Call 2012 Gala

Thursday, May 31, 2012

Dallas Summer Musicals kicked off their Curtain Call 2012 with Asian-influenced style. Event chairs Sandy and Steve Watson were inspired by the elaborate sets from FLOWER DRUM SONG, which they used for the backdrops at Curtain Call 2012 Gala, themed Honor the Children in the Year of the Dragon, benefiting the DSM and its education and outreach programs. Some of the compelling numbers from these programs: In 2011, Seats for Kids brought 3,481 children who had never seen a live theatre performance before and the State Right program has over 230 participants. We were excited to add our own POSH flair to the event with specifically chosen rentals that would add to the strength and boldness of the Asian theme.

Gold Chiavari are the perfect compliment to this Asian-inspired tabletop. Topping off the design is Black Square Glass chargers with Onyx goblets. The main attraction is the Black Asian Dragon runner from Resource One, Inc., which also comes in square overlays and chair covers.

A close-up of the gorgeous Black Asian runner and beautiful florals.

Gold Square Glass Chargers with Extreme Riedel glassware add a nice bold but clean touch to the mixture of Asian colors and designs.
