Time for Tea + Antiques

Monday, October 14, 2013

Audrey Hepburn enjoying a cup of tea. / An assortment of vintage tea cups.

We love the Carpenters, but rainy days and Mondays don't get us down - they get us excited for teas and brunches to start the week of right. An assortment of vintage tea cups and saucers are perfect for the ladies who lunch. Audrey would approve!

While we're on the subject of teas, who made it to the noon tea at the Dallas International Art, Antique, and Jewelry Show last year? To say it was incredible is truly an understatement. This year's festivities include the same amazing vendors, with a highlight being the DIFFA/Dallas Designer Showcase curated by local interior designer John Bobbitt, featuring five room vignettes utilizing fine art, furniture, and decorative accessories from exhibitors in the show to exemplify how antiques integrate into today's lifestyles. We can only imagine what gorgeous concepts Bobbitt, Joe Minto, John Marrs, and Cathy Kincaid will come up with this year. To find out more or purchase tickets, go to the Dallas International Art, Antique, and Jewelry website or facebook page. We'll see you there.

Check out our post on last year's festivities plus a POSH 101 on teas here.

Spotted: POSH Around Town

Wednesday, August 21, 2013
Our clients come up with the most creative concepts, fun parties, and beautiful tablescapes. Here's a glimpse at what our P.O.S.H. pals around town have been playing with this summer.

Floral design Bryan Long obviously has more up his sleeve than transforming floral arrangements. We fell in love with his hydrangea green chiavari chair treatment (above) and can't wait to share more from him. Check back next week for a Q&A, and be sure to check out his website here.

Elizabeth Bynum worked with Rebekah and Josh on their beautiful wedding ceremony at the historical YWCA in downtown Fort Worth. They loved our Jute and Wheat linens, which added a luxurious element to their burlap and lace rustic vibe. Gorgeous! Image courtesy of Hannah Vickers Photography.

Our friends at NexGen Gateway Church hosted a tea with their wonderful women's groups. Our Sevres and Tea Service were the perfect addition to their afternoon.

Entertain: Tea at Three

Wednesday, August 22, 2012
There is something elegant and whimsical about taking tea. Maybe it's because of a summer of London fever (Queen's Jubilee/Olympics) or maybe it's in anticipation of the next season of Downton Abbey. Whatever it is, we're wondering why we've gotten away from the ritual of tea at three. We know; it's hard to take time from the rush of your daily activities. The cultural norm tells us not to stop, but wouldn't it be nice to bring back the simplicity (and welcomed break!) of such a pleasant pastime? Beyond afternoon enjoyment with friends, taking time to enjoy a cup of your favorite tea or coffee is nearly a lost art at dinners and events. What better way to bring back conversation than offering your favorite roast or brew to the table? Luckily for you, we have a beautiful selection of cups and saucers for your next soiree. Stop by the showroom and check out our latest offerings. We've already stocked the coffee and tea bar just for you.
