Tabletop Tuesday // The Power of Simplicity

Tuesday, November 26, 2013
The power of simplicity perfectly captured for a Meadows Museum Donor Dinner.
Sometimes all you really need for a stunning tabletop are a few simple silver patterns and exquisite crystal or glass. The power of simplicity is  perfectly captured at a donor dinner for SMU's Meadow Museum with a concept created by Marin Fiske-Rankin, Meadows Events and Food Service Manager. Marin wanted an impressive display without making it too formal, so she scaled back from a full tabletop to hand-picked pieces that would stand out when handled by the guest yet blended effortlessly with a vibrant linen from La Tavola and the landscape of the room. As always, we think Marin captured the essence of the evening beautifully. This look could easily translate to an elegant holiday tabletop or winter place setting. Read more about Marin and her process on her blog.

Tabletop Tuesday // Watercolor Wonder

For all those blushing brides planning their Spring weddings, this post is for you. A watercolor palette with hints of color and lots of crystal adds a romantic feel to your reception. Light hues will pick up pretty pinks and purples from your floral centerpieces while crystal stemware adds obvious shine to a shimmering tabletop. For a unique look, serve your first course or desert in a Lily Server that serves as the perfect juxtaposition to a modern element like the Artesian Flatware.

Set + Sip: Mimosa Bar

Friday, July 12, 2013
Celebrations call for specialty drinks, and we can think of none better than fresh mimosas. It's time to break out the champagne for weekends with friends or brunch with the bridesmaids - and we have just the stemware for it. But first, here are a few tips to set the bar.

A beautifully set outdoor bar is perfect for easy Summer entertaining, and Pure Stemware is a clear choice for beautiful stemware.
PREP:  Drinks: Pick your favorite champagne along with at least two fruit juices - orange and grapefruit are two crowd pleasers. (We like the choices at Whole Foods.) Fruits: Summer is the best time for fresh fruits. First, get down to your local farmers market for strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and pineapples. Wash and slice the fruit into smaller pieces and place in decorative compotes or bowls with a spoon so guests can choose their own fixings.
SET: Indoors: Create counter space so there is enough room for chilled champagne and juices, plus your favorite stemware. We like using our Vintage Carnival Glassware for a festive feel for easing summer entertaining, and you can never go wrong with our Pure Stemware. Outdoors: Set a table with a great linen to make your stemware and bar really pop. (Our in-house linens have a variety of textures and patterns sure to be perfect for your party.) Then, use a combination of our champagne buckets for a beautiful presentation.

Left, A streamlined, modern set up for a juice bar. Right, Royal Gold Stemware with fresh, summery drinks. Add a twist to your lemonade with different juices and fruits.
OPTIONS: For kid-friendly or alcohol free parties, you can have the same set-up with a variety of lemonades. You'll need more prep for this besides the fruit. Think basil leaves, fresh ginger, and even rosebuds, as well as a variety of juices for mixing.
ENJOY: Have enough goods on hand so you can enjoy the mimosas with your guest.
