Silver Screen Stunners | Golden Globe Style

Monday, January 13, 2014
We're so inspired by this year's Golden Globe Awards. Beyond this being an incredible year for movies (12 Years a Slave, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Dallas Buyers Club, Blue Jasmine, our list goes on and on!), Tina Fey and Amy Poehler being the best hosts ever, Matthew McConaughey winning (with an "Alright, alright, alright" no less) and the incredible talent, it was also one of our favorite year's for fashion. Every single star showed why they deserve red carpet treatment. We can't wait to see the Best Dressed lists, but for now, we're translating our favorite looks to tabletop.
1. Naomi Watts in Tom Ford. Image by Jeff Vespa. / Robin Wright in Reem Acra. Image by Jason Merritt. / A silver tablescape designed by Diann Valentine. Image by MoHa Photography. // 2. Lupita Nyong'o in Ralph Lauren Collection. Image by Jess Vespa. / Amy Adams in Valentino Haute Couture. Image by Steve Granitz. / Emily Clarke designed tabletop. 1. Naomi Watts and Robin Wright prove that age is but a number because they looked hotter than ever. We loved their silver stunners by Tom Ford and Reem Acra, respectively. The simplicity of such a look shines in a way we've seen with a Diann Valentine tabletop. Think Barcelona Silver or Silver Versailles for place settings and Valencia Etched Stemware for toasting a night of stars.
2. Lupita Nyong'o is our favorite newcomer this year. Like everyone else in the world, we are obsessed with this new talent and the beauty she brings to every event. The girl has serious style. On the flip side, we're proud to see Amy Adams finally getting the recognition she deserves. Both leading ladies showed up in crimson hues, and rightfully so. They were simply unforgettable. A tabletop for our ladies in red would no doubt include the Scarlet Filigree Glass Charger like the Emily Clarke designed tabletop above.
3. Who doesn't love Jennifer Lawrence and Zoe Saldana. They are our outspoken and endearing stars and can do no wrong in our book. Jen wore Dior (of course) and Zoe wore an incredible Prabal Gurung number that set her apart as a style star yet again. We'd take these modern looks to tabletop in much the same way as Todd Fiscus for the TwoXTwo Gala - all modern with black and white.
Who were your favorites this year?

Let It Glow // Illuminating Tabletops

Thursday, November 14, 2013

The holidays revolve around family and friends gathering 'round the table. Illuminate the season with trusted, key pieces that easily transition with family pieces or add a rich element to your upcoming celebrations. Here are a few tips on adding posh elegance:

1. We love the idea of cream and ivory additions adding a subtle glow to tabletops. Both Arte Italica Cream Charger and Basket Weave Ivory China Collection have intricate details which prove there is nothing bland about the season's favorite neutral. Bring in POSH Vintage patterns for a truly seasonal look that celebrates both the past, present, and future.

2. Give guests a gracious welcome with fine crystal and stemware. The new Valencia Etched Stemware Collection give a gorgeous glimmer to cocktail hour and make an impressive display on luxe vignettes and bar carts.

3. Bring something bright to the holidays with a richly hued Stella Goblet. Purple is the color of royalty and a nice break from the typical holiday hues - what better way to toast your guests?

4. Speaking of the typical holiday hues, we still love bringing traditional colors and patterns into tablescapes with our linens. Damasks in gold, red, burgundy, and deep greens adds a Southern touch while keeping the season in mind.

5. If you really want to add a festive shine to a fashionable feast, the new Silver Versailles Charger and Dinner Plate instantly adds glamor to winter whites. Just add statement stemware and you're set.

Tabletop Tuesday: Marie Antoinette

Romance, intrigue, and extravagant design come to mind when we hear the name Marie Antoinette. She has influenced everything from phrases, movies, gardens, and tablescapes. Emily Clarke of Emily Clarke Weddings & Events created a luxe and lavish scene  at the Stoneleigh Hotel and Spa inspired by the Dauphine of France and her magical Tuileries Garden and even more opulent home at The Palace of Versailles. From a royal palette of rich gold and charming pinks, the table is set for the modern lady who pictures an enchanting abundance of fun and glamour on her big day, be it a wedding or bridal brunch or just an dinner with the girls. We see it as the perfect backdrop for a pampered evening with the girls. Whatever your reason to celebrate, what a way to let them eat cake. (For a full list of vendors plus details from Emily herself, click here.)

A modern day Marie Antoinette patiently awaits her visitors. Emily Clarke  picked this fabulous gown from Stanley Korshak and created a towering head piece worthy of the Dauphine of France.

More gorgeous blooms from Bridal Blooms. Rentals from POSH include a toast worth of royals with Gold Floral Lace Stemware and Silver Goblet.

Set the table with Mottahedeh White Lace Charger, Arte Italica Dinner Plate, and silk napkin. Rentals from POSH.

Gorgeous gilded serving trays, plates, and trays for easy service.  And what would a French inspired tablescape be without our Sevres Collection teacups and saucers.  All from POSH.
