Past & Present: Julie's Picks

Friday, June 29, 2012
On our last day with Julie, she picks the events she loved and what's coming up at POSH.

What are looking forward to this Fall?
An event with Jordan Payne Events this coming November at The Belo Mansion. She always does beautiful work, and this is a great venue.

On Trend: Julie's Picks

Thursday, June 28, 2012
Julie Smith picks her favorite rentals for summer. We promise, you'll want to scoop them up for your next shindig.

1. Mushroom Bengaline with Oyster Metallic Mesh Overlay: Naturals are big right now. And what better way to embrace summer?

2. Lily Server: A classy and clever way to add style to your amuse bouche. Check out our Five Things for a great watermelon gazpacho from Kim at Cassandra's Catering. Perfect for this dish!

3. Vintage Carnival Glassware: A stylish twist on your tabletop -- this was huge in the D Weddings Fall 2012 issue. While it's great any time of year, Julie calls this the modern mason jar. It's perfect for summer sweat tea and cold beverages.

4. Gold Floral Lace Goblet and Champagne Flute, plus the Amber Trumpet Glass: One look at these and you'll know why this is Julie's favorite way to toast a summer soiree. Touches of gold with your natural linens bring effortless elegance to your tabletop.

5. Mottahedeh Tree Charger and China: Unique and textured finishes for a dream tabletop.

POSH Couture Rentals is a behind-the-scenes business. Before the gorgeous tablescapes, linens and chairs meet your aesthetically trained eye, we work behind the scenes helping clients figure out the right tones, themes, colors and mixtures to fulfill every whim of their imagination. Because we are so often inspired by our clients and their mood boards, we thought we'd share what inspires Team POSH. With our home office in Dallas heating up (106 degrees!), you can imagine we're dreaming about trading in our work wear for swimsuits and nautical landscapes. Whether you're working or wheels up towards your vacation destination, we hope you enjoy getting your own behind-the-scenes look at Team POSH.

Up first, Sales Manager Julie Smith shares what she's looking forward to this summer. Be sure to check back tomorrow to see her on-trend rentals for the warm season.

There's nothing that hanging out with the girls and a little bit of sunshine won't cure!

If you're going to stay in Texas, you better find digs on the nearest lake in these hot summer months. While in Dallas, check out our Texas Rangers, and keep a few Blue Moons with orange slices handy to beat the heat!

Tabletop Tuesday: Georgia O'Keeffe

Tuesday, June 26, 2012
Continuing the D Weddings Fall 2012 series of asking wedding planners to create a tablescape for their ideal client, A Stylish Soiree chose Georgia O'Keeffe. This modern artist came to largely represent the American Southwest with her compelling landscapes and cultural body of work. Floral centerpieces that appear to be floating above the table, green landscapes and a setting in the outdoors would be O'Keeffe approved. We love the modern take Stylish Soiree took by incorporating green polka dots.

Rental items: Green Chiavari Chairs, Schott Zwiesel Pure Tritan Glassware, Green Chloe Goblets, Lime Round Scalloped Charger, Silver Bead Glass Plate, Green Polka Dot China, Barcelona Silver, Vintage Dessert Compotes. Wedding Roundup: What Wowed Us

Thursday, June 21, 2012

There were too many great weddings out there not to share this week. As a rental company, we love seeing when clients personalize their wedding or event by choosing colors and textures that are representative of them and their landscape or atmosphere. It's amazing how the slightest detail transforms the entire mood of an evening. We can take inspiration from any of these events and translate it into a gala or opening night event. It's one of our favorite parts of this job. From the first to last image, these breathtaking photos completely wowed us.

DFW Events: Amanda & Aaron

Clockwise from top left: The bridal shoe - sexy but sweet juxtaposed with a lace dress. // The wedding took place at a family home, where it was decided to incorporate a huge existing tree in the yard. The Garden Gate covered it in white rose petals and Amanda and Aaron's initials and wedding date were carved into the trunk. // Tenting sets a luxurious tone. // The beautiful couple en route to the honeymoon.

Five Things: Summer Entertaining

Wednesday, June 20, 2012
Today is officially the first day of Summer. It may be tough to beat the heat down in Texas, but don't let that stop you from some serious Summer Solstice entertaining. So sit back and relax (hopefully with a fan and a cool beverage) -- we've got the goods lined up for your hostess duties whether you're poolside, lakeside or oceanfront.

Pick something colorful for your lively libations - they'll look great in your guest's hands and be a prime point on the tabletop. For linens, go luxe with the White Hot Summer theme for a head table or focal point for the evening. #1 (Clockwise from top): Classic and Parisian Carnival Glass, Blue-Green Glassware, Elise Cut Crystal Stemware, all POSH Couture Rentals. #2 (Clockwise from top left): Ivory Petal Taffeta, Ivory Circle Ribbon Taffeta, Ivory Rosette, all Resource One Linens, exclusively at POSH Couture Rentals.

This playlist will get the good vibes flowing for an lazy Summer evening filled with friends and laughter. As always, the best bet is iTunes, but if you aren't a fan of Spotify yet, it is highly recommended.

We love our Lily Server and wanted to showcase a simple Summer dish that would perfectly fit the dish and the season. We called Kim Jameson at Cassandra's Fine Catering to see what she recommended. She originally found the recipe above in Bon Appetit and swears by it for Summer entertaining.

What kind of friends would we be if we didn't give you some advice on what to wear for hostess/guest duties? All of these looks are simple to achieve and can easily be switched out for other activities and events. // 1. T by Alexander Wang Tank / Alice + Olivia Printed Wide-Leg Pants / Alexis Bittar O'Keeffe Necklace / MHL Patent Leather Sandals // 2. See by Chloe Skirt and Top // 3. Equipment Zebra Blouse / J. Crew Pencil Skirt / Nicholas Kirkwood Pump // 4. Tory Burch Natalia Short Caftan.
