If you're thinking about scalloped edges

Monday, April 15, 2013

Whimsical design in unexpected places - that's what really inspires us. Just take the scalloped edges that are making the rounds from the sweetest Spring fashions to festive, colorful chargers. We love the lining of these shorts for their unique take on hemlines. It's such a fresh take for an adult short look. Taking that inspiration to tabletop, we love the idea of adding an acrylic scalloped charger for an undeniably chic accent to any tablescape. It's time to get scalloped!

We're sending our best out all across Dallas and Texas this week and packing plenty of surprises for May and June. If you see our POSH trucks out, come over and say hi. Tabletop Tuesday: Marie Antoinette

Romance, intrigue, and extravagant design come to mind when we hear the name Marie Antoinette. She has influenced everything from phrases, movies, gardens, and tablescapes. Emily Clarke of Emily Clarke Weddings & Events created a luxe and lavish scene  at the Stoneleigh Hotel and Spa inspired by the Dauphine of France and her magical Tuileries Garden and even more opulent home at The Palace of Versailles. From a royal palette of rich gold and charming pinks, the table is set for the modern lady who pictures an enchanting abundance of fun and glamour on her big day, be it a wedding or bridal brunch or just an dinner with the girls. We see it as the perfect backdrop for a pampered evening with the girls. Whatever your reason to celebrate, what a way to let them eat cake. (For a full list of vendors plus details from Emily herself, click here.)

A modern day Marie Antoinette patiently awaits her visitors. Emily Clarke  picked this fabulous gown from Stanley Korshak and created a towering head piece worthy of the Dauphine of France.

More gorgeous blooms from Bridal Blooms. Rentals from POSH include a toast worth of royals with Gold Floral Lace Stemware and Silver Goblet.

Set the table with Mottahedeh White Lace Charger, Arte Italica Dinner Plate, and silk napkin. Rentals from POSH.

Gorgeous gilded serving trays, plates, and trays for easy service.  And what would a French inspired tablescape be without our Sevres Collection teacups and saucers.  All from POSH.

I mean, how fabulous is this shot?

We can't get enough Marie Antoinette!

Outfit to Tabletop: Pretty Pastels

Monday, April 8, 2013
Spring calls for pretty pinks and feminine hues, but who says your pastels can't be sophisticated? Taking a cue from the wardrobe of the one and only LSD (Lauren Santo Domingo), we jumped on the pink and gold bandwagon that has made it from Vogue events to fabulous Texas weddings.

Left, Lauren Santo Domingo / POSH rentals include, Pink Scalloped Acrylic Charger, Gold Leaf Dinner and Salad Plate, Gold Leaf Compote, Gold Lyons Flatware, Royal Gold Glassware
We love how LSD's look can go from a weekend brunch to ladies lunch. Our tablescape transitions just as well with its mix of precious metals and whimsical touches of pink. A seasonal centerpiece of tulips ties in to the acrylic charger while the gold adds a refined elegance that hinders this tablescape from becoming to cheesy. How would you style pink and gold?

Weekend To Do: Culture Club

Friday, April 5, 2013

One: Anthropologie's home collection, inspired by remote isles and sea, is the perfect addition to freshen up tablescapes and homes this season. It's the escapism that will get you from Spring to Summer.
Two: We can't event begin to cover how will feel about the genius of Baz Luhrmann in one blog post. While everyone is certainly looking forward to the release of The Great Gatsby, Architectural Digest is digging into the design and architecture of the set with Tobey Maguire. Read it here.
Three: Texas has officially named the pecan pie THE state pie. In a state known for sweets and Southern hospitality, this is no easy feat. Food & Wine shares the 1996 winning recipe for Bobby Lee's Texas State Fair pecan pie (judged by none other than Dean Fearing). Just add it as another source of Texas pride, along with BBQ, breakfast tacos, and sweet tea. Recipe here.
Four: The Dallas Art Fair (April 12-14) and The Dallas Film Festival (April 4-14) bring serious talent to our growing cultural mecca. Get your tickets and read about the art and film waiting to blow your mind this month.

The Shift: Petite to Adult Tables

Thursday, April 4, 2013
What better way to transform your event than with two equally fabulous table designs, one for the kids and one for the adults. Working with a Chanel-inspired theme, the POSH Petite table incorporates the same patterns and color theory in a darling display of pink and black as its more adult counterpart, the simple yet stunning sophistication addition of mirrors and white with black and pink. Infusing beautiful design into an event should be appreciated by the whole family, after all.
Get the look with P.O.S.H.
PETITE: Paris Plaid linen from Resource One, exclusively at POSH, Light Pink Avalon petite chair, Black Acrylic Charger, Pink Polka Dot China Collection.
POSH: A mirrored tabletop sets the stage for elegance. Try our Silver Bead Chargers, Artesian or Parisian Gold Flatware, Silhouette Stemware, and White Chloe Goblets.
