The Final Touch

Friday, January 17, 2014
We're taking our last photos for the website, and we're just as excited as Marilyn looks in this beautiful image by Bert Stern.
Happy Weekend! Please excuse our sporadic posting the past few weeks. We are in the final stages of launching our new website, and we couldn't be more excited. We're taking the last photos, finishing our last tech jargon spreadsheet, and seeing everything come together in a way that will make our clients have instant gratification by building their own tabletops with our virtual table. It's taken over a year of planning and software building from the group up, and we appreciate your patience. With just a few weeks left, you can expect us to share a countdown date very soon. Until then, be sure to follow us here and on facebook for the latest news and tips.

Tabletop Tuesday | Welcome Party

Tuesday, January 14, 2014
How do newlyweds welcome friends and family to their hometown of Dallas? By bringing in the best for a stunning reception of cut crystal, gorgeous florals, and whimsical accessories at the Nasher Sculpture Center, of course. Charleston event planners Easton Events designed this festive soiree with the help of Dallas favorites Jackson Durham, La Tavola Linens, POSH, Wolfgang Puck, and Beyond. We're not the only ones who loved these sweet welcome party. Martha Stewart featured all the fun here while you can see the wedding reception in the special edition wedding issue.

Jackson Durham's luscious floral arrangements flock collections of candles and birds, while our Exotic Bird Dinner Plate sits pretty for the main course (above). The Nasher reception included all the elements a tabletop needs to truly shine - Cut Crystal Chargers, Silverplate Silverbead Flatware, and Pure Stemware. All photography by Ryan Ray.

Silverbead Salad Plates with the Lily Flower Server are the perfect foundation for a gourmet feast from Wolfgang Puck.

Silver Screen Stunners | Golden Globe Style

Monday, January 13, 2014
We're so inspired by this year's Golden Globe Awards. Beyond this being an incredible year for movies (12 Years a Slave, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Dallas Buyers Club, Blue Jasmine, our list goes on and on!), Tina Fey and Amy Poehler being the best hosts ever, Matthew McConaughey winning (with an "Alright, alright, alright" no less) and the incredible talent, it was also one of our favorite year's for fashion. Every single star showed why they deserve red carpet treatment. We can't wait to see the Best Dressed lists, but for now, we're translating our favorite looks to tabletop.
1. Naomi Watts in Tom Ford. Image by Jeff Vespa. / Robin Wright in Reem Acra. Image by Jason Merritt. / A silver tablescape designed by Diann Valentine. Image by MoHa Photography. // 2. Lupita Nyong'o in Ralph Lauren Collection. Image by Jess Vespa. / Amy Adams in Valentino Haute Couture. Image by Steve Granitz. / Emily Clarke designed tabletop. Image by Sarah Kate Photography. // 3. Zoe Saldana in Prabal Gurung. Image by Steve Granitz. / Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior. Image by Jeff Vespa. / A Todd Fiscus designed tabletop. 1. Naomi Watts and Robin Wright prove that age is but a number because they looked hotter than ever. We loved their silver stunners by Tom Ford and Reem Acra, respectively. The simplicity of such a look shines in a way we've seen with a Diann Valentine tabletop. Think Barcelona Silver or Silver Versailles for place settings and Valencia Etched Stemware for toasting a night of stars.
2. Lupita Nyong'o is our favorite newcomer this year. Like everyone else in the world, we are obsessed with this new talent and the beauty she brings to every event. The girl has serious style. On the flip side, we're proud to see Amy Adams finally getting the recognition she deserves. Both leading ladies showed up in crimson hues, and rightfully so. They were simply unforgettable. A tabletop for our ladies in red would no doubt include the Scarlet Filigree Glass Charger like the Emily Clarke designed tabletop above.
3. Who doesn't love Jennifer Lawrence and Zoe Saldana. They are our outspoken and endearing stars and can do no wrong in our book. Jen wore Dior (of course) and Zoe wore an incredible Prabal Gurung number that set her apart as a style star yet again. We'd take these modern looks to tabletop in much the same way as Todd Fiscus for the TwoXTwo Gala - all modern with black and white.
Who were your favorites this year?

Spring Forward | Nasher Garden Party

Nasher Sculpture Center from Marc Roberts on Vimeo.

With the Arctic Vortex literally putting a chill on our bright outlook, we knew it was time for a Spring throwback. The Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas (one of our favorite venues not only for parties and weddings but also to peruse on the random day off from work) shared a video highlighting their Garden Party from last year. We had the pleasure of working with amazing DFW vendors, like Mary Wright Shaw and Jackson Durham to name a few. This should get you in the mood for planning your next Spring soiree.

Tabletop Tuesday // Starry Nights

Tuesday, January 7, 2014
Tabletop design, floral arrangement, and image courtesy of Dr. Delphinium.

Dr. Delphinium has always had our hearts with their floral arrangements, but they also have a knack for creating unforgettable tabletops. With Art Deco being a huge trend in 2013 and 2014, they were influenced by the style of the roaring twenties as well. Luxe china collections and embellished linens certainly reflect the era of The Great Gatsby, and the Dr. Delphinium team captured it perfectly. We love the luscious floral arrangement (Daisy would approve) and the gold details sure to leave stars in your guests eyes. This is a tabletop perfect for breaking out of the winter doldrums or celebrating a bright new year.

The Big Chill

2014 is definitely storming...as in ice, snow, and incredible wind chills. This may be one of the coldest January's yet in Texas. In order to warm us up, we're brainstorming winter entertaining with haute looks even in the coldest temperatures. Get the look below.

1.  Dress the party with long, silk gowns worthy of a night on the town topped with layers of knits and furs. You'll be sitting pretty (and warm) even if the power goes out.
2. The look of our distressed ivory chiavari is a favorite for rustic winter weddings and events. It obviously looks great in outdoor settings but also has the proper style for seriously stylish entertaining well-heeled guests.
3. You really can never go wrong with a white place setting, especially if it's a Simply Platinum Dinner Plate mixed with Gold Leaf China.
4. The perfect party favor is one that keeps guest warm of course. We love the idea of cashmere throws that can easily be layered and thrown across legs and shoulders.
5. Warm up your core with a hot beverage, from the hot toddy to good old fashioned shots of whiskey, we have just the glassware for you.
