Wedding Wednesday: Vows that Wow

Wednesday, May 15, 2013
Ivory chiavari chairs with ivory tufted cushions for sweet and chic seating.

Brides of North Texas is giving us a sneak peek on this Southern belle wedding with its chic spin on rustic tablescapes at Maria Gabrielle. What really caught our eye is the ease of the tablescapes even with couture china. The floral arrangements by Bows + Arrows coupled with our classic Sevres china transport this tablescape from downtown Dallas to romance of the French countryside. Brittany and Jamie unique picks set the tone for a truly picturesque evening. And how adorable is the sweet couple and their ring bearer and flower girl? We can't wait to see what the rest of the wedding looks like as we patiently await the next issue of Brides of North Texas. Be sure to pick up your own!

Is there anything better than an ombre petal runner surrounded by White Oak folding chairs? Only the stained glass at the end of the aisle - breathtaking!

Tabletop Tuesday: Glamping

Tuesday, March 26, 2013
P.O.S.H. place setting: Gold Bead Glass Charger, Black Banded Dinner Plate, Sevres Collection Dinner Plate, Barcelona Gold Salad Plate, Dynasty 24K Flatware, Black + White Striped Linen, all P.O.S.H. Couture Rentals.

You can always expect the quirky and cool married minds behind Bows and Arrows to come up with a fun and gorgeous tabletop. We're talking about floral darlings Alicia and Adam Rico, of course. Everything they do is like a breath of fresh air. Take their unexpected turn on tabletops in the latest Brides of North Texas with "Glamping: Caviar and S'mores." It has the playful irreverence of a modern bride with the luxurious gold elements that tie it together for a truly glamorous affair (Hence the glam in glamping!). Definitely two POSH thumbs way up. Who says champagne needs stemware? Our Gold Scroll Water Glass is the perfect way to glam up a "glamping" tabletop.

What Wowed Us: Modern Day Grace

Thursday, January 24, 2013
This wedding popped up in our weekly blog reads, and we were immediately struck by it's sophisticated elegance. Not only that, but the beautiful bride reminded us of a modern day Grace Kelly - graceful and timeless. Bella Flora provided romantic floral arrangements in creamy palettes that took our breath away. What a lovely day for the bride and groom, and although it was an October wedding, we can see these creams and gold working well throughout the year.

Brooke, the bride, looks gorgeous! Dress: Elizabeth Fillmore from Warren Barron

Tabletop Tuesday: Rustic Elegance

Tuesday, August 28, 2012
Branching Out Floral & Event Design recently participated in a "Christmas in July" event at the Crescent Club. Their mission? You guessed it - create a unique holiday look for the Gourmet Room. The design team based their blended vibe of rustic elegance was inspired by owner Debby Jewesson's love for the understated glamour of Ralph Lauren. We think she captured the RL essence perfectly. Will this inspire your holiday Pinterest boards? It already has ours!

GET THE LOOK
1. Toast to the holidays with Elise Cut Crystal glassware, Gold Filigree Etched champagne glass, Exotic Bird cup and saucer.
2.  Layer it on for a luxe look: Jan Barboglio hammered charger, Copper glass charger, Peach Barral Antique Sevres Collection dinner plate, Silver Bead glass charger, Exotic Bird salad plate.
3. The overall look of the Ralph Lauren inspired holiday room. Linens by bbj linens.
4. Don't forget the design details! Love the paper goods designed Southern Fried Paper, the gorgeous florals by Debby J's team, and the rustic elements by Fauxcades (think leather couches and chairs, cowhide rugs, etc).

POSH 101: Sitting Pretty

Friday, March 30, 2012

The first week of spring is here, inspiring us and other great vendors, like the lovely ladies at Branching Out Floral & Event Design. Their Stevens Park Golf Course "Spring Tee" shoot by Kari Crowe Photography featured springtime blossoms and stationary from Southern Fried Paper. We love the direction they took with our decorative flatware, crystal club glasses (filled with a Lemongrass Mojitos, no less), and natural colored grande chiavari chairs with white linens.

The Branching Out ladies made a perfect choice with the chiavari chairs. After all, seating is an essential element of any great event. A guest needs a place to sit and a hostess wants an attractive option that's easy on the eye and looks great in photographs. A POSH favorite, the chiavari chair is known for its versatility and ability to mirror the style of any event--from sophisticated weddings to garden-themed dinners, this baby is a mainstay on the sitting pretty circuit.

So where did this lovely classic originate from? In 1807, furniture designer Gaetano Descalzi created the Chiavarini (named so for the Italian coastal town where Descalzi lived). The elegant shape couple with its mobility (light, easy to stack) made it an instant hit that further proves great design withstands the test of time. From Mme. Brisson andthe Kennedy wedding to your next event, the chiavari is in hall-of-fame status.
