Create A Unique Table

Friday, March 7, 2014
When planning an event, whether it be a wedding reception, dinner party, luncheon, or corporate dinner, there are many ways that you can make your tables unique.  We may be a little biased that all you need is a great tabletop design and flowers to complete a table, but sometimes you need to add more too really standout.  Every day we are surrounded by all sorts of beautiful pieces that inspire us to try new things.  Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and try something different with your design.  Why not go above and beyond and really make a statement?

Here at  P.O.S.H.® it is our specialty to provide you with luxury pieces to make your event perfect.  And while we have tabletop covered, here are a few of our favorite ideas to add that extra something to your table.

CREATE UNIQUE PLACE CARDS
Place cards are traditionally used to indicate what table or where a guest is assigned to sit and generally place cards are designed on a piece of paper to add a little style.  This by far is the most commonly used form of place cards, but recently we have been seeing fun ways to switch it up like the ones pictured below.

GET CREATIVE WITH CHAIR DÉCOR
Here at P.O.S.H.® we have a variety of chairs that we offer and if we do say so ourselves they are pretty outstanding just the way they are, but too really up the ante we think adding a little chair décor does just the trick.  By adding either a cushion, ribbon design, or cover to any chair you can really take it from drab to fab!

FOLD YOUR NAPKINS
Napkins are essential for any table setting.  Just as the silverware and china are a must, napkins are one thing that makes a table complete.  While napkins are essential for your table, there is no reason you can’t spruce them up with a little somethin’ somethin’.  We are picturing flowers, bows, menus and layers…

TRY GHOST CHAIRS
Ghost chairs are all the rage these days and are being used for events, interior design, and fashion pieces, you pretty much can’t go wrong with these.  They come in a variety of colors and styles, each one more fabulous than the last.  The thing about these chairs is that they really can be situated into any venue or scene.  Their versatility makes them very unique and outstanding!

USE COLORFUL GLASSWARE
There is something so simply elegant about colorful glassware.  We love how they stand out and can make a statement on their own, as well as, compliment other pieces on the table.  Why not try something other than tradition crystal glassware?  Here at P.O.S.H.® COUTURE RENTALS we have a variety of colorful glassware in all sorts of colors that we love to incorporate into our designs.  We urge you to incorporate pieces like these into your table design and we are sure you will be an instant fan!

INCORPORATE VIBRANT COLORS
Whether it be with your chargers, china, flowers, or linens; pops of vibrant color really make a tablescape standout.  For any occasion it really is the best way to take a boring and dull setting and turn it into a unique and outstanding table.

Traditional vs. Modern

Wednesday, December 18, 2013

Your personality should shine through your tabletop, especially during the holidays. Tradition and holiday hues can still be applied, but be sure that guests see a true reflection of the host where they sit. It is the most sincere and authentic gesture you can make when breaking bread with family and friends. Whatever your personal style or the interior design of your home, you can put together an exceptional tabletop for the holidays with a little help from your friends at POSH.

Traditional Tabletop
You have Mary McDonald's prints and patterns in your dining room and your own collection of Mottahedeh. How to spruce it up a little differently this year? Bring in the Versailles Silver Charger for an added layer of silver and the Parisian Flatware for just the right amount of gold. Forgo the same stemware as last year with a touch of true luxury with our Elise Cut Crystal Stemware for toasting all night long. And when dinner is finally served, look no further than our vintage silver dome platter - the presentation will definitely be worth it.

Modern Tabletop
Embrace the Art Deco theme that is taking everyone by storm. Choose luxe cut crystal with a geometric cut charger and a truly modern shape with our Artesian Flatware. Nothing says modern like a pop art throwback, which calls for a Chloe goblet in holiday hues of red and emerald green. The final touch? An immaculate clear ghost chair from Resource One. You're set for Christmas.

We showed you a portion of this event yesterday, but the rest of TD Jakes 35th Anniversary part is well worth mentioning. Diann Valentine showcased her knack for making a large event feel intimate, with stylish service stations for food and several lounge areas. The beauty of a Diann event is that there is always understated elegance mixed with whimsical modern touches to make sure everyone feels like the guest of the hour but relaxed enough to have the fun they deserve. Just one look at this party and you'll be calling Diann for your own Well Lived night, or at least get on the guest list to one!

The glowing newlyweds. All images from F8 Studio

Mary Wright Shaw at Diamond Affairs knows how to put on a beautiful wedding, and with a couple this gorgeous and glamorous, she went all out with to create an unforgettable day of events. Gorgeous arrangements by Bella Flora take centerstage from an otherwise neutral palette of champagne and light pink. Ghost chairs add a modern touch to the elegant affair, taking the tables from pretty to chic. Tabletops consisted of accent goblets with a mixture of Pure and Riedel stemware for this well-heeled crowd. Perfection! Gorgeous, right? Get all the details below.

WW: Fort Worth Zoo

Tabletop: Silver Goblet, Parisian Gold Flatware, Pewter Chiavari Chairs, Classico Stemware, Khaki Mandarin Nu Silk | Floral, Branching Out

This dose of #WeddingWednesday is a throwback to Spring featuring all of our favorite things: The Fort Worth Zoo, artistic photography, a range of tablescapes and linens, cocktail hours and seated dinners, a beautiful bride and groom, and the creative genius of Emily Clarke and Debby Jewesson of Branching Out. This gorgeous event took guests on a wild ride in the best way - animal shows, magicians, great bands, etc. One glimpse at these photos and we're sure you'll agree. See even more images on Style Me Pretty.

Guests were greeted with a sign in table covered with beautiful floral arrangements by Branching Out and animal inspired trinkets, like the elephant planter. We love how Emily covered the first thing guests would see with a gorgeous Blush Ribbon Organza from Resource One, exclusively at P.O.S.H.

P.O.S.H. Villa Ballroom Chairs are the perfect way to add sophistication to the tented ceremony, along with dramatic draping from Dallas Draping and Lighting.

After the ceremony, guests were ushered to the back of the tent so the front room could be transformed into a dance floor and seated dinner setting. Guests enjoyed cocktails with custom bars from Fauxcades and Liland's Special Events and cocktail tables and chiavari barstools from P.O.S.H.

Elegant draping for the bride's entrance.

Seating cards matched the zoo theme with painted animal figurines attached to name cards.

Head Table: Mottahedeh White Lace Charger, Gold Parisian Flatware, Silver Rimmed Water Goblet, Silver Wine Goblet, Pure Stemware

Villa Chairs were moved to guests tables along with oversized seating from Liland's for a modern table arrangement.

The head table received special treatment with Amber Kartell Ghost Chairs from Resource One, exclusively at P.O.S.H.

Tabletop Tuesday: Glamping

Tuesday, March 26, 2013
P.O.S.H. place setting: Gold Bead Glass Charger, Black Banded Dinner Plate, Sevres Collection Dinner Plate, Barcelona Gold Salad Plate, Dynasty 24K Flatware, Black + White Striped Linen, all P.O.S.H. Couture Rentals.

You can always expect the quirky and cool married minds behind Bows and Arrows to come up with a fun and gorgeous tabletop. We're talking about floral darlings Alicia and Adam Rico, of course. Everything they do is like a breath of fresh air. Take their unexpected turn on tabletops in the latest Brides of North Texas with "Glamping: Caviar and S'mores." It has the playful irreverence of a modern bride with the luxurious gold elements that tie it together for a truly glamorous affair (Hence the glam in glamping!). Definitely two POSH thumbs way up.
